Hi, My name is Kristina. I am planning to travel to Hong Kong for school. I also want to go to China to visit my friends and relatives. Is there a way I can get a multiple entry visa in the U.S.? According to the website, I have to provide a photocopy of previous Chinese visa issued in recent 5 years to obtain a mutiple entry visa. I have been to China when I was 5 years old so it is not issued in the recent 5 years. Am I only stuck to getting a single entry visa? Thank you.

Jun. 27,2009 04:30
Mr.Noel replied:

You need a student visa to Hongkong and a L tourist visa to China. However, you are not able to get a multi-entry visa to China, since only professors, experts, senor managers, researchers, foreigners having real estate in China can apply the multi-entry visa.

Mr TC, it is hard for you to get Chinese visa upon arrival. Only when you have an emergency, you can apply for the visa on arrival but you have to provide the proof. Anyhow, it is somewhat troublesome.

I am in need of a Working Visa (Z) for china, and was under the impression I could go to Hong Kong to obtain it- however, my Chinese boss is now saying that we can no longer do this and must go back to our home countries to obtain it? Is this true? Or can I go to HK still? And if I can, where is there an official statement posted or website that I might show him in order to back my argument?

Thank you in advance for any advice anyone might have,
Alex

Mrs.Anniston(CA) replied:

In the Olympic Games, due to the increasing visa application, China toughened the regulation. But I haven't seen any official statement about the change of visa policy. You can consult the office of commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in HK.
