What will you do in Taiwan? If for a visit, you'd better take part in a tour group and apply for the visa through the travel agency organizing tours to Taiwan in China.

I am on my 4th business visa now and the 1 I have now is a 2 year mulitple entry with 60 day duration stay... 1st question I have is.... How can we obtain a tourist visa for my wife to visit the US for a week or so? 2nd question..... I would like to obtain a D visa so that we may stay here and live as we don't want to live in the US .... How to do this????

1. You can apply for a USA visa for your wife from the USA embassy or conculate near you.
2. You have to apply for a Residence Approval Certificate issued by the Chinese public security bureau in China, and then apply for the D visa from the China embassy in USA.

Hi, I am a US citizen and my wife has a China passport. I will apply for a D visa for me and our children who are also US citizens. We plan to live in China for the long term. Do you know if the Residence Approval Certificate has to be obtained in my wife's hometown (Guangxi) or if we can get it in Shanghai where we plan to move? And what are the costs to obtain long time residency in China? Finally if we visit China together on a tourist visa, obtain the Residence Approval Certificate and then go to Hong Kong, can we apply for the visa in Hong Kong?

Jun. 30,2009 01:20
Mr.Robinson(HK) replied:

You have to ask your wife's relatives within China to apply for Residence Approval Certificate from the Chinese the local Entry and Exit Administration Division under Public Security Department before you apply for the D visa, so you may only get the Residence Approval Certificate in your wife's hometown.
The visa fee is $130.
You can apply for the visa from the Commissioner's office of China's Foriegn Ministry in HK SAR.

Dear Sir/Madam, I am Hungarian and I have a Chinese wife, whom I married in Hungary. We are planning to live in China for at least one year, starting in 2010. What do I need to get a Visa for that period? Thanks in advance! Greetings!

Jun. 17,2009 21:25
Mr.Sean replied:

I'm afraid you are not able to stay in China for so long time. You could only apply for a L tourist visa t China, whose duration of stay after entry is at most 180 days. Please ask the Chinese embassy in Hungary for detailed and exact info..

Jun. 18,2009 04:26
Mr.SIDDHARTA(Hungary) replied:

Is that really possible? She got 5 year residence permit here in Hungary, just because we married, anytime she can renew it, or get it for 10 years.

It really doesnt matter that we are married, I cant live in China if I would like to? That would be outrageous!

I tried to contact the embassy here, but they dont speak Hungarian, or only very limited... Well, my wife will have to try. Thanks for answering anyway!

Jun. 18,2009 22:27
Mr.Sean replied:

The Chinese embassy in Hungarian has the right to make the final decision, try to get real help from them.

I suppose that your wife has a certificate of her property, which can prove your wife's ownership of the property. You can get the visa at either of the two places.
