If you will stay in Shenzhen for less than 5 days, you may apply for the Shenzhen Special Zone visa on arrival, but with the visa, you can only travel within Shenzhen. If you want to stay in Shenzhen for longer, you have to apply for a China visa in KL one month before your trip. With a single entry China visa, you will be allowed to stay in China for 30 days.

I know there's a Chinese embassy at Vientiane but I don't think I will go there. I can make do with a tourist visa because I won't stay long in China after I come back here.
