I visited the Chinese consular in Paris (there are directions posted on the embassy entrance) no more than 4 days ago. I was able to attain a 6 Month double-entry visa for China. I have only the regular 90 day schengen stamp in my passport as probably do you. (In a way, it is actually a visa). I'm Canadian. I do not know of any difference between Nationalities, but usually Canadian, Australian, and American are treated similar.
But my advise is to go to the nearest one and try. It worked for me. Thanks Chinese Embassy.Please correct me if the information that I state is incorrect. Just thought I'd pass the info. Best of luck! John
