My wife and I are visiting Sanya (Hainan) in November for one day, on a cruise ship. There's some debate whether we need a Chinese visa or not, but we will apply for one anyway. We both live in Northern Ireland but each have both Irish and British passports. Can we apply for visa from Dublin (as we have Irish passports) or would we both have to be living in the Irish Republic? Or will it prove easier to apply for visas by post from London, using our British passports?
Oct. 7,2009 01:13 Ms.Zoe replied:
You can apply for visa from Dublin by submitting the Irish Passport. If you want to use the British passport to apply for Chinese visa, you can only apply from Consulate-General of China in Edinburgh because North Ireland is under consular districts of Consulate-General of China in Edinburgh.
