Dear Sirs,
I am a Mexican citizen living in the US as permanent resident. I have a reservation to travel to Beijing on June 2009, the last time I visited the border of Mexico was last Christmas (2008), would there be any problem for me in terms of being held in quarantine? I am planning to stay there for only a week so I would really appreciate an update in the status of the current restrictions for Mexicans.

Sincerely,

FA

Last Christmas? There won't be any problem since there was no swine flu last Christmas.

Mrs.Blanca Sandoval(Mexico) said:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have an important question to ask you, since you are the Chinese Consulate in Mexico, about going to China this July 2 for 10 days. This trip is important to me as this will be my very first experience to see your beautiful country.

I live in Saltillo in the state of Coahuila where there is no swine flu. I have been very healthy for the past several years with no illness at all.

Please advise whether I can go ahead to book my flight to China.

Many thanks and looking forward to hear from you this week,
Blanca Sandoval

May. 12,2009 20:59
Mr.James (USA) replied:

Mrs Blanca,
This website is not the Chinese consulate's site. Currently, I don't think you can get a visa for China due to the outbreak of swine flu in Mexico.

Hello,

I'm a mexican citizen and I'm plannig to travel the nord of Chine for 20 days in August this year. Although the swine-flu alert in now officially under control in Mexico, I want to know if the current restrictions delivering visas to mexican citizens could be a problem for then. If is it, can you tell me for how long do you think this situation will last? Thank you.

May. 10,2009 21:05
Ms.Ruby replied:

Mr Cabrera, it is hard to say. It seems impossible to forecast the situtation of the epidemic. Nobody knows what will happen tommorow.

To whom it may concern,

I'm a mexican citizen studying at USA. I got my Chinese visa before the breakout of swine flu. My trip is planned for the end of this week (May 15th). I'm not sick, and I have not been close to anybody sick of swine flu. Is there a risk of being put in quarantine just because of my nationality?

Thank you

May. 10,2009 20:15
Mr.Sam(Panama) replied:

Surely you will have to undergo a strict physical check-up at the airport. If the immigrant officers find you are suspected virus-carriers, you are likely to be in quarantine.
