Does anyone know if the policy has changed with going the the Chinese embassy in Seoul to obtain a visa? I plan to visit China late December and would like to just go to the embassy and get one. Do I have to go through a travel agent?

As far as I know, there is one Western Union service all over the world. The Embassy may not help you about this issue, you have to solve the problem yourself.
