Hi! I'm Ashely, today I read a piece of news that a Chinese citizen Mr. Xue was refused to enter Japan by the Japanese customs office because he brought 4 cartons of cigarettes. The Japanese customs official said that he brought a great quantity of foreign cigarettes and he was suspeted of smuggling; he must give up cigarettes, otherwise he must return to China. Mr. Xue refused to do so and returned to China by the same airplane.
The Japanese customs office does not define what quantities of the same sort of articles that the aliens can bring; it is subject to the decision of the Japanese customs officials, so Chinese citizen had better take a limited quantity of same kind of articles.

Hi, I am a Canadian Citizen who live and work in Japan. Need to go to biz trip soon but my travel agency told me that I need at leat 6 mon left in the re-entry permit and for 4mon for single entry visa. I thought it doesn't matter as long as my passpost is valid for a while - and this would be at least 6mon?
