Mr.Mark replied:

I think you need, but you'd better confirm this with the Sri lanka emabssy in China. You will apply for the visa from them if you do need visa anyway.

Dear Sir.

I am G. Attanayake, Senior Assistant Librarian, University of
Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. I am a recommended nominee of Postgraduate
Scholarships (Library & Information Science Ph.D.) for Year 2009 of Higher education Ministry of Sri Lanka.

They asked me to submit filled applications for the process of selecting a university and I submitted the all documents plus Medical Report and waited until the result comes.

At this moment my friends have got their final results. But my name was not on that list. I donot know the reason for that.

That's why I wish to write you to be aware the reason . Even
though my name was not appeared on this list that means do my name send later? I named three universities. They are Peking University, Wuhan
University and Renmin University.

If possible could you kindly help me by giving some information regarding my situation as soon as possible.

Presently I am employed as Mathematics teacher at an International school in China. I was told by my school officials ( and also from a few other schools )Chinese government has banned issuing work visa/renewal of residence permits to all Sri-Lankans including some fourty other nationalties. Is there any truth to this. Last few years there were issues likes this, some immigration officers refused to issue/renew visa for Sri Lankans including myself. After a lot of efforts, they have renewed the residence visa. I don't understand their basis for not renewing resident permits based merely on the nationality with which they have even good relationships. I understand that there are people who over stay their visa, people violating chinese rules and regulations. But these types exists in every nation and in every country!
