  2013 Holidays of the embassy

If you are applying to work or study in the PRC, or if someone else travelling with you shares the same passport, or if you are applying in a country or territory other than the country of your current nationality, you also should fill out the Supplementary Visa Application Form besides the Visa Application Form.

 Important Notice:  

1. Ordinary passport holders from Singapore are exempted from visa to the PRC if they stay for less than 15 days for business, sightseeing, visiting relatives and friends, or transit. 
2. But in following situations, they are required to apply in advance:
   1) Ordinary passport holders intending to stay in the PRC for more than 15 days; 
   2) Ordinary passport holders intending to study, work, reside or gather news; 
3. For applicants who were born in the PRC or with former Chinese nationality, they should provide any one of the following documents:
a. A copy of passport information page and copies of previous Chinese visas. 
b. Original and copy of the Cross Out China Passport.
c. A copy of Birth Certificate or Notarization
d. A copy of Cross Out Identity Card or Registered Residence Booklet.
4. For French passport holders, they should apply in person with finger prints verification, a valid permit (WP/PR/P1/P2/EP/STP/SVP/DP etc.) or Embarkation Card, a recent 3 months bank statements (If applying with their spouse's or parents' bank statement, marriage or birth certificate is required as well). Rush service is unavailable to them. Besides, an original insurance policy may also be required if necessary. For business F application, they should further provide an original invitation letter from the China company or original dispatch letter from their company in Singapore.

 Requirements

 Tourist/Fmily Visit Visa (L)

1. Original passport with at least two blank pages and the passport should be valid for at least six months.   
2. One completed and truly filled the Application Form with a recent-taken passport photo stuck on it; if the applicant has a Chinese name, it should be filled in.
3. Those who apply for tourism in the PRC should provide round-trip airline tickets and hotel reservation; for family visit should provide certificate of relationship, round-trip airline tickets and hotel reservation.
4. Foreign citizens shall provide documents that entitle them to reside for an extended period of time in the SPR, WP, EP, STP, DP.

 Business Visa (F)

1. Original passport with at least two blank pages and the passport should be valid for at least 6 months. 
2. One completed and truly filled the Application Form.
3.  "Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit" or "Confirmation Letter of Invitation"
4.  Round-trip airline tickets.
5.  Foreign citizens shall provide documents that entitle them to reside for an extended period of time in the SPR, WP, EP, STP, DP.
6. For applicants who want to study for no more than six months in the PRC should also provide:
   a. Admission Notice (original and copy) 
   b. Application Form for Study in the PRC (JW-201/JW-202, original and copy, which indicates the period of study being less than six months).

 Student Visa (X)

1. Original passport which has more than six months left from the date of application with 2 blank pages or more. 
2. One completed and truly filled the Application Form and Supplementary Application From.
3. Application Form for Study in the PRC (JW-201 or Form JW-202, original and copy).
4. Admission Notice (original and copy).
5. A Physical Examination Record for Foreigners filled out and signed by a doctor (original and copies). The appointed hospital is Singapore General Hospital or Raffles Hospital.

 Work Visa (Z)

1. Original passport valid for more than six months with 2 blank pages or more (valid for 18 months and more if applicants intend to stay for more than one year).
2. One completed and truly filled the Application Form and Supplementary Application From.
3. Employment Approval Documents required:
         (A) Foreigners who come to take up employment as experts, scholars, teachers, managerial personnel and as personnel working in related state or local organizations should provide:
         1. Permit for Foreign Experts issued by the State Bureau of Foreign Experts (original);
         2. "Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit" or "Confirmation Letter of Invitation" 
         (B) Foreign technical personnel who come for Offshore petroleum operations should provide: Letter of Invitation to Foreigners for Offshore Petroleum Operations issued by National Offshore Oil Corporation (original);
         (C) Chief representative or representative of foreign offices resident in China should provide:
         1. The registration certificate of resident representative office of foreign (regional) enterprises issued by related administrative department of industry and commerce; Or the approval document for the resident representative offices of foreign enterprises issued by related commercial departments.
         2.  "Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit" or "Confirmation Letter of Invitation" (original).
         (D) Personnel who come to implement aid or technical cooperative projects should provide:
         1. Bilateral or multilateral agreement between the Chinese Government and foreign government or international organization, for cooperation and exchange;
         2. "Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit" or "Confirmation Letter of Invitation" (original).
         (E) Personnel who come for commercial performance should provide:
         1. Approval document (original and copy) issued by the Ministry of Culture or the Cultural Department of related province, autonomous region or municipality directly under the Central Government;
         2. "Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit" or "Confirmation Letter of Invitation"        
        (F) Personnel other than those mentioned above should provide:
         1. The Employment Permit for Foreigners issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security;
         2. "Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit" or "Confirmation Letter of Invitation" (original).
         (G) Accompanying family dependents of personnel should provide an "Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit" or "Confirmation Letter of Invitation" issued by the authorized Chinese unit or proof of kinship, e.g. marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc., and a copy of the Z as well as Residence Permit.
4. A Physical Examination Record for Foreigners filled out and signed by a doctor (original and copies). The appointed hospital is Singapore General Hospital or Raffles Hospital.

 Transit Visa (G)

1. Original passport valid for more than six months with at least 2 blank pages. 
2. One completed and truly filled the Application Form.
3. A valid visa and an onward air ticket on international flight to the destination country or region.
4. Crew members who come to board should provide an original copy of "Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit" or "Confirmation Letter of Invitation" issued by an authorized unit in China.
