Itinerary: 8 Days Shanghai - Yichang - Yangtze River - Chongqing - Shanghai
"We are back home from our cruise and wanted to let you know that we enjoyed our time in China very much. Thank you for all the help with arrangements. All of the guides that assisted us were very professional and knowledgeable. They spoke very good English and were able to communicate very well. Our flight from Shanghai to Yichang had to stop in Wuhan because of bad weather in Yichang, so we did not get to Yichang until the following morning, and we were unable to communicate the change with anyone. Yet, your guides were at the airport to greet us when our plane finally did arrive. Because of a low river flow, we were unable to take the East Queen all the way to Chongqing. When we arrived in Chongqing by bus, your guides were there to meet us and they had already secured our luggage. The only point in our trip that we were not met timely was upon our arrival in Shanghai on Sunday, April 7th. Perhaps, that was due to the fact that we were put on a different flight than initially shceduled, but we arrived at the Shanghai airport at the time on our schedule. Fortunately, a man from the same travel agency was at the airport and helped us out.
Thank you again for helping make our trip enjoyable and memorable."

Itinerary: 11 Days Beijing - Xian - Chongqing - Yangtze River - Wuhan - Shanghai
"WE all had a fantastic time and would like to thank you for your excellent service and organisation. Both the drivers and tour guides were of a very high standard. They were informative and flexible giving great advice on what to do and how long to spend in each place. A special mention for Darren Hoe who was our Beijing guide. His English was exemplary and his knowledge of the sites was detailed. HIs easy going and friendly manner made our holiday a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
WE all felt that, whilst we enjoyed the cruise from Chongqing to Wuhan, there were a few problems. We did not consider that the Cruise was worthy of a 5 star rating. Also the boat could only get to Wuxian. Apparently this is not uncommomn at this time of year and we felt it would have been better to warn people of this so they could decide whether they wanted to take the risk or not.
Overall we would have to say it was an excellent trip. China is a fascinating and beautiful country and in the short time we had we experienced a great deal of it. This was wholly down to the professionalism of your guides and your excellent organisation.
Thank you once again for making it the trip of a life time. We would not hesitate to recommend Travel China Guide to all our friends."

"Some very quick comments (about the tour).
1. It all worked well.
2. Impressed (by the following)

The growth and dynamism of China. There is construction everywhere. Beijing is a government city. Shanghai is a much more dynamic commercial city. have a 100 ruble note with a picture of Lenin from a 1992 trip to Russia. That banknote is worthless today. A 100 RMB banknote has value.
The Forbidden City as government that was built in 1420 and was static for 500 years. That is never true in the West.
Dust. The States also did too much agricutlure into dry areas. Pollution control comes after a country becomes rich.
Ability to build a dam
Brutality and commonness of Buddism practices in Tibet. We saw three auto accidents in Tibet. The last we took an old woman who had been hit by a car to a hospital. She screamed in the back. The hospital was maybe 15 km away. The hospital had no doctors on arriving. The New Years flags and pray wheels are everywhere in Tibet.
Some sensible flexibility on scheduling at times. For example, in Tibet, we did a day outing to see a very pretty holy lake and a snow capped mountain. This was scheduled for the last day in Tibet. The last day was cloudy. The first 2 days were clear. The 7200 meter snow capped mountain was never seen. Go with the clear weather when it is there and shift the schedule around. In Tibet one should see one Himalayan peak."
