We had an absolutely wonderful tour and are recommending your service to all of our friends. Everything was so well-organized and the guides were all interesting and well-informed about their regional areas. We never thought we could afford such personal and attentive service.
We loved the meals and the fact that the menus were chosen for us. Everything was delicious, especially the meal in the Uigur restaurant in Urumchi. Our guide there did a good job finding us a table since it was on Saturday and very crowded. Eating with local people is part of the travel experience. Also, the amount of food was overwhelming. We were only able to eat part of the many dishes prepared for us. Fewer dishes would have been satisfactory to us.
All guides were conscientious. Our last guide, in Shanghai, was amazingly fluent and our Beijing guide also had considerable skill, even with colloquial English. All the guides seemed very knowledgeable about their home towns. We asked a lot of questions and got good answers.
The drivers should be congratulated for driving skillfully in that awful traffic. Our driver in Beijing was the most careful. All of the cars were clean, both inside and outside.
Pass along our good wishes and thanks to all of our guides. We always felt secure in their hands. And a special thanks to Windy for handling our late arrival so well. It was truly a vacation to remember.

Hi Eileen:
I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our trip to China through the Silk Road. I'm still gushing over with enthusiasm whenever I'm asked about the trip. It was not only a fantastic journey through time but also a wonderful experience to meet any of the minorities. The trip was a balance of a variety of sights so it gave us a good perspective of the history, peoples and culture in the Gansu and Xinjiang provinces. The beginning and ending stops in Beijing and Shanghai only added to the experience as they are nice contrasts to the western China regions.
This turned out the perfect way to travel, for Sharon and me at least. Not wanting to be with large tour groups and also needing an English speaking guide worked out just well. Much of the enjoyment of the trip was due to the care that all our guides gave us. They made it a much more personable experience as they not only provided interesting information on the sights but we were able to converse with them to get their views of life. Our guides were young women in their 20's to older married men in their 30's so we were given quite a range of perspectives. All spoke English very well and all were knowledgeable in their areas. All the drivers were very courteous, but spoke almost no English so we didn't have much interaction with them. Above all, they were good, careful drivers especially when they were passing cars on narrow roads.
Would there have been a way to take a trip to Kashgar? Urumqi was a good end point, but Kashgar is the real end to the Silk Road in China. For my future planning are there tours that include Kashgar and swings through the southern portion of China?
I am highly recommending Travel China Guide services to anyone interested in traveling through China. Thank you!

Eileen,
I also wanted to tell you that Brad and I had a wonderful time in China. Thank you very much for mailing my 2 jackets to Shanghai hotel; that was great service!
The best part of our trip were the wonderful guides; we got to know each of them and it was like travelling with good friends. We hope to keep in touch with them via email.
We enjoyed all the places we saw and it was so nice to meet you in Xian. We certainly will recommend your travel service to others. Thank you very much.
