Dear Eileen
Many thanks for your email, as you know we are now at home after our trip but we wish we were still in China. Firstly, I am so sorry that we met you only for such a short while in Xian, hopefully we shall come back one day and see you for longer.
We wish to congratulate you and your colleagues on the superb organisation of our tour. EVERYTHING (and we mean EVERYTHING) worked so very well. Every where we went we were met promptly, efficiently and welcomed most warmly by your courteous guides. We realise that you must have worked hard to ensure that our tour ran so smoothly and we thank you very much.
The Guides:
All our guides were knowledgable, interesting and proud of their respective cities and their Country. All of them wanted to know about our Country and we genuinly felt that we learned something about our Chinese culture from them. Hopefully we managed to explain something of English culture in return.
Beijing - Linda was an absolute delight to be with, she has a wonderful sense of fun and humour and by the time we had to leave, she felt more like a friend than just our guide.
Xian - Emma, a little slower to appreciate our sense of humour, but again, when we left for Chongqing, we felt we left a friend behind.
Chongqing - Michael, we only met him for a short time and we would have liked to have spent more time with him.
Wuhan - Oscar, superb guide, very proud of his city and a delight to spend time with.
Shanghai - Jessie, just the most wonderful girl and it was such a pleasure to spend time with her. We were sad to leave her behind.
Guilin - Jessica, great sense of humour and an excellent singer and she even managed to get us to sing her an English song!!
We hope we were not too much hard work for our guides!! Would you please ensure that they are told how much we appreciate them for taking such good care of us? Also, will you make sure that the Travel China Guide Managers know what great staff they have.
Hotels:
Beijing, Prime hotel. Excellant, wonderful rooms, lovely staff, good atmosphere, we would stay here again.
Xian, Hyatt. Good, but the rooms were not the best we experienced on our tour. Probably would stay somewhere else if we returned.
Yangtze, Regal Cruise, excellent. The ship was good, the staff were wonderful, we would go back tomorrow!!
Guilin, Sheraton hotel. Excellant, good rooms, superb staff, great happy hour prices!! We would happily stay here again.
Hong Kong, Sheraton hotel. Wonderful rooms, fantastic views, incredible staff. We would stay here again without any hesitation.
Restaurants:
We enjoyed the variety and differences in the restaurants we were taken to.
Internal Flights:
Excellant. All on time, comfortable with pleasant efficient staff.
Summary
Eileen, we had the most wonderful holiday. We met so many friendly smiling people and were made so welcome in your Country. It was a pleasure to be a guest in China and we hope to return in the future. Any small criticisms we have made are just that - small criticisms - and do not detract from what was the most wonderful holiday. We are four laughing, happy people and we have found that this usually gets the same response from those we meet. In China, this proved to be absolutely correct!!
China is a wonderful Country with wonderful people and I have been telling everyone I meet that China will become a great and powerful Country and deservedly so. History tells us that the 19th Century belonged to Britain and the that 20th Century belonged to the USA. I predict that the 21st Century will belong to China.
Be assured if (or when!!) we come back to China we shall ask you to make our arrangements and we shall insist on having the same guides, whom we now consider to be friends!! Thanks to everyone at Travel China Guide.
Sorry this email is so long.
Sincerely
Keith Adams
