I greatly enjoyed my Lhasa, Tibet Tour. The meals were all very good and my hotel was adequate and fine.

My Tibetan guide, Tashi, was excellent. His knowledge of his native Tibetan culture was outstanding, and greatly added to my Tibetan experience. His English was excellent and made the tours of the monastaries so fascinating. Also, he was able to explain to me the various religious figures and traditions of each monastary we visted. In addition, he explained the traditions and regions of the Tibetan native styles of clothes which I was very curious about. Also, when we visted a typical Tibetan family, it was helpful to speak Tibetan, as I had many questions about the typical Tibetan home.

My driver (also a Tibetan) was wonderful and a careful and conscientious driver. The vehicle (Land Cruiser) was clean at all times and very comfortable. It was indeed a pleasure to be in such capable care as with my Tibetan guide Tashi and my driver. They made my Tibetan experience complete.

Thank you again for arranging my Lhasa tour. You may reprint my comments. I have no photos to offer, as all were made with 35 mm film, not digital. Thank you again!

Dear Irene and TravelChinaGuide,

We had an amazing trip to China thanks to Travel China Guide and your wonderful guides.

Our first recommendation is just to provide your clients with all their flight information prior to the trip. Since we spent part of our trip to China on our own (before and after the tour), it would have been helpful to know our flight times and arrivals in each city. We needed this information to make other arrangements with our friends.

Regarding meals, the food was delicious! However, we always had too much delicious food. We understand that you want us to try a variety of food, but with only the two of us on the tour, we really needed smaller portions of each type of food. We particularly enjoyed the Beijing Duck dinner and the Dumpling Banquet. Also, we had a very memorable meal in Shanghai at the Central Hotel. The beautiful setting, local musicians who played during the meal, the delicious food, and the outstanding service made this one of our favorite dinners.

We wish that the guides and drivers would have been able to join us for some of our meals. Since it was just the two of us, their company would have added to our enjoyment. You might consider permitting that as an option in the future.

Regarding our guides, all of them were very polite and conscientious at all times. We were impressed by their fluency in English and their knowledge of the places we visited.

Regarding cars, the service, cleanliness of the vehicles, and attitude of all our drivers (except one) were outstanding. We truly appreciated their promptness in picking us up, and driving us to places in a safe manner. We had one driver in Beijing, Mr. Gu, with whom we did not feel safe. He drove very fast and changed lanes in a dangerous manner.

We were particularly impressed by Stanley (Wen) in Beijing and by Owen(Liao) in Guilin. They were truly outstanding. We found Wen's years of experience and excellent English skills to be especially helpful in providing us with a deeper understanding of China. He was also very adept at helping us at the airport with our luggage requirements. We enjoyed Liao's enthusiasm for his work, his flexibility, and his interest in people. During our trip to see the local farmer in Yangshao, Liao was very helpful and patient with translating our conversations.

We highly recommend the visit to a local farmer to other travelers. We learned a great deal from this extraordinary experience. We also loved all the performances that were arranged for us to see, but the Portman Acrobatic Show was our favorite.
