Hi Maggie/Ruby,
Thanks for everything you did, you kept us very well informed and answered all our questions/concerns ahead of time.
We thought there was adequate time spent in most of the places that we visited given the time constraints and also getting to see as many places as possible.
On the whole the meals were plentiful and good quality. I would definitely recommend the peking duck dinner as being very enjoyable.
All of the guides were very good and had a very positive attitude. We enjoyed all the different personalities of the guides
All the guides on the buses were well spoken and easily understood.
The drivers were very good & efficient and handled the traffic very well.
We found all the guides to be mostly helpful and friendly. We liked Rose's efficiency in Beijing, Carol's bubbly personality in Xian, Bimba's kindness in Lhasa and Coco's flexibility in Shanghai. Bimba was kind enough to send food back to my husband who felt too ill to make it to the first dinner. Coco understand that we were all "museumed out" and allowed us to change the plans, first making sure that everyone in our group was in agreement. All the guides were waiting at the airport to meet us and made sure we were safely on our way to the next destination. Luggage was handled well and in general we thought that Travel China Guide was a very efficient and well oiled machine. When one of our group was so ill in Tibet the company handled things very well and ensured that he was taken care of. We would have no problem recommending Travel China Guide to our family and friends.
On the cruise we weren't always sure of what was happening and it took us a while to understand that we were included with the other groups. It was great to meet Maggie in Xian and were delighted that she was on the cruise with us.
The hotels were all great with nice rooms and good food and service. I definitely would drop the word "luxurious" to describe the Lhasa hotel. It was far from luxurious. We loved being on the pedestrian street in Shanghai especially as we had time to enjoy it with our extra day tacked on.
We enjoyed all the shows, especially in Beijing and Shanghai.
We all felt the visit to the Sturgeon museum was a complete waste of time and would have rather just wandered around the town for a couple of hours.
Other than these few minor details, we thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip, had great companions in our group and thought the whole experience of visiting China and Tibet was fantastic.
I've attached a couple of photos we hope you enjoy, as you can see we were having a great time!
Good luck with your wedding Maggie, I hope you post some photos on the website!!!
Take care
