Dear Maggie and Ruby,

I will be glad to provide my comments regarding our China Tour. And I will be glad to have my comments posted and provide recommendations to anyone who asks.

1. The trip was very well planned. I enjoyed most of the sites and felt that the time allotted to them was adequate. The one site that I didn't enjoy was the Chinese Sturgeon Museum in Yichang. Though the Great Gorge Dam was quite impressive, this was also something I didn't enjoy that much. However, I could see where others would really find this interesting, so I think it's a good idea to include the dam in future trips.

Note: According to most of our clients' suggestion, we have removed the Chinese Sturgeon Musem from all the itineraries. Our website will be updated accordingly. --by Travel China Guide

Everything else on the trip was excellent and provided a great insight into the Chinese culture.

The Chinese National Museum in Shanghai was one place where I could have spent more time. But we were there for 2 1/2 hours so I didn't feel rushed. It's just such a wonderful collection of Chinese art and culture.

I would have enjoyed a little more shopping time in Shanghai. I would recommend to future travellers that they stay an extra day to enjoy the great bargains that can be found there.

2. For the most part, I found the meals to be wonderful. I enjoyed the dumpling dinner more than the Peking Duck dinner. The dinner at our last night in Shanghai was my favorite. We really enjoyed the music accompaniment done by two women playing traditional Chinese instruments.

3. The guides were excellent. Lily in Beijing was so friendly and outgoing. She was like a good friend after a few days. Her English, though good, was not great, but she was very gracious in repeating herself when asked. Her love of Beijing and her country and its culture came shining through during her tours. She was just wonderful.

Chen in Xian was also wonderful. Though not as outgoing as Lily, her English was impeccable. Her knowledge of the history of Xian and China was immense. She knew the answer to every question we asked.

These were our two best guides.

Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of our guide in Yichang. This was my least favorite place so I didn't pay much attention. I remember the guide as being good, friendly, knowledgeable, but since I really didn't like Yichang, I was not a good recepient of her knowledge and expertise. I think the fault lies with me.

Jendy in Shanghai was also very good and helpful. By this time, parts of our group wanted to spend time shopping rather than continue of the tour program. Jendy was very helpful in working with the group to please everyone.

A special mention to one person. She is not really a tour person, but a traveller counsellor, and that is Maggie Ye. Unfortunately, through no fault of Travel China Guide, I became sick prior to the cruise. Maggie was on the flight, and took care of my every need, from helping me get through the airport to getting a cab to the boat to checking me in at the boat and getting doctors for me. I am so grateful to Maggie for being there during a bad time of the trip. Her kindness will always be remembered as a highlight of the trip.

4. All of our drivers were amazing. And the cars were spotless. After rain in Tianamen Square, our driver washed the van so that we could still take pictures out of the windows. I am totally impressed by their driving skills and felt very safe in their care.

My compliments to a great tour company - Travel China Guide. I will have to say that I found your company by accident on the Internet. After a review of your site, I decided on using Travel China Guide for my trip to China. There was some concern that all you advertise may not be true, but I decided to take the chance. I didn't need to worry at all. Your tour company went way beyond my expectations; everything was wonderful, from the accommodations to the guides to the food to the service to all of the sites, scenes and sounds of China. Everything went so smoothly, even arrivals and departures at the airport.

All memories of this trip will last a lifetime. And this is mostly due to Travel China Guide as well as Maggie, Lily, Chen, and Jendy, our travel counsellors and tour guides. I feel like I now have many friends in China. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

Attached is a picture of my husband and I enjoying Yuyuan Gardens in Shanghai.

Following is a letter of thanks our client wrote to our Travel Counsellor - Maggie Ye:

Dear President of Marco Polo Travel and Travel China Guide:

My heartfelt thanks to Maggie Ye. I was recently on a trip using Travel China Guide from October 12 through October 23. I became very sick flying from Xian to Chongqing accidentally. Maggie was on the board and was very helpful in every way. When I needed a change of clothes, she provided that. When I needed transportation, she got me a cab to the boat. Not only did Maggie get me the cab, but came along for the ride in order to assure my comfort and safety. When arriving at the boat, she was helpful in getting the boat director's attention to get me checked in as soon as possible. Her kindness and attention to me made a horrible situation bearable. I was able to see the doctors on board and recover quickly, in no small part to Maggie and her action. I will never forget her kindness. I truly appreciate it. Though not a fun time of the trip, I look back on the experience as somewhat of a highlight because of Maggie's care. In my mind, Maggie deserves a bonus!!! I am forever grateful to her.
