I will try to offer our comments as honestly as possible, please accept that we had a wonderful holiday and that any comments are not meant as a criticism, but just to help you plan holidays better for people like us.
We were served very well everywhere we went. All flights were met and all arrangements went perfectly.
Meals: All meals were excellent. The food was well prepared and a good variety, including fresh vegetables. One point is that we were pleased that we changed the Beijing roast duck banquet and Opera for the first night, as we were very tired after Day 2. Please note that visitors from Australia do not have Jet lag as the time Zone is the same. Also on the days when we had a Hotel breakfast and then Restaurant lunch and Dinner, we found that this was too much food and we had to leave a lot, which was sad as it was all v. good. Our favorite meal was the Sechuan spicy food. The roast duck was also v. good. The dumplings were interesting (Xian), but as we had had a big lunch, we were not very hungry.
Guides: All our guides were friendly, well informed about the places they took us to and concerned for our happiness with everything we did. We were well looked after and always felt very safe, even in the very crowded places like The Forbidden City. All our guides were very concientious, had good English, although I have to make special mention of Anna, Janet and Susie, whose English was so good they could share jokes with us and converse very naturally. All our guides were very knowledgeable about the places we visited.
Cars: All Drivers were careful and safe. The first car, in Beijing, was the most comfortable (a Lexus). The other vehicles were minibuses. Mrs Liu was a very good driver. We would sggest that you ask all your drivers to fit 3 point seat belts in all rear seats, as all western visitors will expect this. The vehicle in Guillin had lap belts, but the vehicle in Shanghai had no rear seat belts. This is not a criticism of the driving standard, as often accidents are caused by another vehicle. All cars were clean and drivers polite.
We found that each place we went, there was not enough time and we were taken (on average) to one more place each day that we were just too tired to enjoy. This was especially the case in Xian, where we really needed an extra day.
Beijing: After climbing the great wall, we enjoyed the sacred path, but could have skipped the Tomb. The next day, we would have liked to spend more time at the summer palace, which we found really enjoyable and it would have been great to have relaxed on a trip on the lake, with a late flight to Xian. The Hotel was the best of all.
Xian: Again we enjoyed the terracotta warriors museum and pagoda, but had very little time to rest before going out for the evening (just 15mins to change). The performance was excellent. 2 days would have been better. We felt very tired and could not do the walk on the city wall.
Guilin: This was the most beautiful place and again we could have spent another day there easily. We enjoyed all our excursions and walking around the city and its lakes. We had fun visiting the mountain villages. The Hotel was very good and central for walking in the evening.
Shanghai: The hotel was a bit too far from the tourist places in the city, but was good service. We loved our visit to the Street co-ordinater and workers housing and also the liu Gardens area and markets. Again we had a great guide in Susie and the evening show was excellent.
Testimonial for website:
We found China quite different to our expectations. We expected a much more controlled environment and were pleased to find that we were free to wander out for walks in our free time and look around the shops. We found China to be colourful and vibrant with that real sense of moving forward, but with a pride in its history and culture and learned a lot about family life and especially the equality shared by Women from our guides, who were all very professional, while maintaining a sense of fun. We will return and spend more time when we retire.
I will send some photos under a separate email, as they are not on this computer.
Thank you once again,
Angela Willcocks and John Hulme

Dear Ms. Cu + Wang,Please see my comments below.
The quality of the meals was generally good. The best restaurant experience was in Beijing (Beihai Fangshan Restaurant). This restaurant had been chosen by us. It was authentic and special and located at a beautiful site close to the lake .
We were somewhat disappointed by the Peking Opera performance and would have expected a more original and less tourist oriented performance. However, the acrobatic show in the Portman Centre in Shanghai went well beyond our expectations. The same goes for the Tang Dynasty dinner show in Xian which we thoroughly enjoyed.
All guides were professional, service oriented and well trained. All guides had a fairly good command of English, some better, some less. The normal communication went well. We were very much pleased with William, our guide in Shanghai, who gave us very useful and to the point information also for non programmed activites. We very much appreciated his great sense of humour.
All cars were clean and the drivers were always punctual and did their best to bring us safely to the visit sites.
The whole trip was extremely well organised. Everything went smoothly without incidents and we are fully satisfied with the organisation provided by Travelchinaguide. All hotels lived up to our expectations or went even beyond (The Hyatt on the Bund in Shanghai + the Sheration in Guilin). We would not have been able to do such a lot of travelling and sightseeing in 12 days had we travelled on our own account and therefore can recommend Travelchinaguide.
Best regards,
Dirk Fassbender
