We travelled in China for 17 days in August of 2009. Despite the weather in the month of August, all ten of us in my group felt this was one of the best travel we did so far. The credit goes to the great team at Travel China Guide (TCG). All arrangements for our custom itinerary were superb! All meals, all hotels, the guides and the drivers, everything just great!.

The river cruise was the best cruise we have ever taken, and we have gone on more than ten so far. The size of the deluxe cabins and the bathrooms in our rooms were bigger than our rooms in the five star hotels we stayed in!

All meals were superb! We love Chinese food. But at the same time, we like a variety of cuisines in our normal diet at home. We prefer the same when we travel, with a more of the local cuisine in the mix. But still a diverse mix of cuisines. Breakfasts being buffet, there is no issue there. But for lunches and the dinners there should be a broader choice. Luckily for us, the TCG team was very flexible; they heard us and did everything to please us in this regard. We suggest, when you are working on the custom itinerary for a group, please come up with a scheme to offer them choices regarding the cuisines ahaed of time. Hotels are easy; we go to the Internet and we know what we can expect. However, the food is an issue. It is totally unknown until we get there.

The selection of the shows by TCG was excellent too!

Since all our guides and the drivers were great, we are not going to mention a particular one being better than the rest.

All in all, we give five stars to the TCG team. We highly recommend TCG, a great value!!

Dear Ruby and Rebecca,

Thanks for the opportunity to write about my trip to China. As you are aware, there were several changes made to my itinerary particularly when my friends from Jilin, Olivia Wang and Nana Li, decided they wanted to join me to explore their own country! At no time did I receive any complaints from you about these changes, in fact, your entire organisation was very professional.

As for food, well, I really cannot single out any individual meal as being better than others (there were so many!). They were all of excellent quality, and I found the variety of different types of food to be interesting and stimulating to the pallet!

Our guides were as varied as the food, both in their styles and presentations. I found them all to be well versed in their knowledge and presentation. They all went out of their way to make the trip enjoyable. My only regret is that parts of it couldn't be longer! Likewise the drivers and their vehicles, always a smile and very happy to go out of their way to help.

As you know my one disappointment was the hotel in Shanghai which was surround by demolition and construction for Expo. But when you found this out, there was no problem in extending my stay in Suzhou instead of returning to Shanghai, and the hotel there was quite excellent.

One recommendation I would like to make is that, when somebody using your services specifies a particular interest, that this is passed on by you to the guides. As a "theatre person" I really enjoyed the performances we attended, and was able to expand them slightly in Suzhou (by visiting the Opera Museum) and in Zhouzhang, where we chanced on an opera performance at a local theatre (an unexpected bonus). I was able to arrange this with my guide, Janet, when I asked, but it would have helped if she had known ahead of time.

Next year, a close friend is taking his son to China as a graduation present. I have already given him your book and told him to be in touch!

Please feel free to use the attached photos on your web site. I am sending some separately as For ID the younger lady (straight hair) is Olivia and the older one Nana. The photos of me and Olivia on the wall are with our guide Tina.

Thanks again
