Meals

No doubt China has a rich heritage of fine food, the most famous varieties being Cantonese Cuisine, Sichuan Cuisine and Shanghai Cuisine, but from the analysis of National Tourist Administration, many travelers complained that they ate the mass-produced food every day and they had not even experienced the real Chinese food for the whole trip arranged by some tour operators. Travel China Guide assures you that what those travelers suffered is true. Travel China Guide will offer you a completely different experience. Action speaks louder than words. Now please check our following arrangements:

  • Water and Soft Drink
We offer two bottled water free of charge on tour every day including the cruise; for every lunch and dinner we offer two cups of soft drink or local beer free of charge.

  • A La Carte Meal and the Conduct
We have a la carte meals included in the tour (as specified in the itinerary). Each person has his own tastes. Though hard as we try, we understand that set-menu dishes can not cater to all different tastes from different people from each corner of the world. But we are eager to show you the best Chinese food and we believe you will be happy to have what you choose by you yourselves but not to have what is chosen by others. This kind of arrangements will no doubt give you the best experiences in trying real Chinese food especially for the vegetarian.

All a la carte meals will be assured to serve at good local restaurants. You will have lunches and/or dinners with local Chinese people sitting around. Learning how they use chopsticks and how they cook will be quite an experience during the tour. And we are sure that by the end of your tour, you will love those meals!

You may find out that the dishes under same names are very different in China from the Chinatown in your own country! You may not familiar with the names of Chinese dishes and do not know what you should order and what you should not, please do not worry, our guide will help you to make decisions and may bring you very good suggestions. To make things easier to organize, we arrange minimum 4 people at a table when having a la carte meals so as to make sure there are enough varieties and enough dishes. And for each meal, there will be certain price limits and you may refer to the itinerary for all limits. Please be advised that if the actual cost is over our limits, you will need to pay for those extras, but if it is under our limits, the difference will not be refunded because we will have paid for your meals in advance

  • Beijing
    Beijing Duck Dinner
The signature dish in Beijing is still Beijing Roast Duck and it is the thing you must do during your visit. Chinese Dumpling
    Chinese Dumpling
    Dumpling Banquet
Chinese dumpling is one of the most important foods served as a part of the Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations. In Xian you will enjoy a special dumpling banquet at Tang Dynasty Palace prior to the famous Tang Dynasty Dance and Music Show. The dumplings are in shape of lovely animals, lively vegetables etc, and maybe you'd prefer to keep them rather than to eat them.
    Fried Brocoli
    Fried Brocoli

    Sichuan Cuisine
Sichuan Cuisine is the most popular cuisine in China because of its appetizing flavors. It has unique and various tastes, sour, spicy, sweet, bitter, salty, and the most famous one is its tongue-tingling. Some people might not like it when first trying because of its strong flavor, but most people will definitely like it if they give a second try.

We will let you experience this unique Sichuan food on the day to the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. As the museum is located in a small county, where travelers will have very few chances to find real good Chinese food, we would take you back by the expressway to downtown Xian to a highly reputable Sichuan cuisine restaurant to have lunch. Also on the other day, you will have Sichuan dishes at another reputable local restaurant.

  • Chongqing
    Sumptuous Buffet Dinner
A sumptuous buffet dinner will be arranged at the 4-star hotel, Holiday Inn Yangtze preceding your boarding on the deluxe cruise ship, China Regal. In China, Chongqing is very famous for its abundant snacks, and you should not miss them there! All those various seafood, western food, and Chinese dishes will greatly impress you.

The water sterilization and purification systems also make its water the safest among all cruise ships on the river.

  • Shanghai
    Farewell Dinner
Farewell Dinner is an indispensable part of a memorable tour. To round off this wonderful China Tour with Travel China Guide, we will be much honored to arrange it at the famous Central Hotel, where US$13.00 net will be spent for each of you at its restaurant of over 260 years, Wang Bao He, which is the best place to serve Shanghai Cuisine.
