Day 2 Pyramids & Egyptian Museum; Sleep Train to Aswan
Visit the Giza Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, the Great Sphinx, Egyptian Museum. Take an overnight sleeping train to Aswan. (B+D)
After breakfast at hotel, our experienced guide and driver will pick you up and start the Egypt group tours. First we will set out for Giza Plateau, which is renowned as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World covering three most famous pyramids – Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure. We will also visit the Great Sphinx. Do you know who built the mysterious statue? How was it discovered? Who destroyed its nose? Does it really have a secret switch under its right ear? Let’s see in person with your questions! Your guide will expound all the secrets of this fantastic statue.

► Three Regular Ways to Visit Giza Pyramids:
1. Stand at the foot of the pyramids to touch the grandness of them.
2. Select a perfect angle to record your kiss with the Great Sphinx with cameras.
3. Take a “family portrait” for the six pyramids on the observation deck.

Lunch is on your own, and the guide will recommend suitable restaurants for you. After lunch, we will move forward to the world-renowned Egyptian Museum which collects more than 120,000 exhibits. A must-see treasure is the golden mask of Tutankhamen on the second floor, regarded as the world's most expensive artifact by some scholars, as it is estimated at about $1 billion. In fact, it's not made of pure gold, but of an alloy mixed with gold, silver and copper, which was even rarer than pure gold in ancient Egypt. Is it really exquisite or exaggerated? Perhaps only after seeing it in person can you have your own evaluation!

Finally we will drop you off at Giza Railway station to take the overnight sleeper train for around 13 hours to Aswan. Dinner is served on the train.

► Upgrade to Flight at Extra USD100 per person
If a 13-hour overnight train ride is too risky for you, we can also arrange a flight from Cairo to Aswan. The additional cost is USD100 per person, including the price difference in air and train tickets, transfer to and from the airport, and hotel in Cairo or Aswan for one night (you’ll stay in Cairo or Aswan depending on flight availability). If you need, please contact us in advance.

Lunch is arranged on board.

The rest of the time is free to visit. The Nubians paint their houses in varied colors, some keep crocodiles, and there are also nameless but delightful spices in the market.
