The hotel was opened in 2006. There are 300 guest rooms/suites in total. Aromacafez features the cooking skills of Master Chef Ding Xun Wei who has prepared an array of unique Shanghai delights and modern western favorites, using the very best of local product and Australian/New Zealand meats and cheeses, the meal is complimented with fine Australian and imported wines and beers.

I took a chance on this newly opened property when I was last in Shanghai. The room I had (1717) was more like a suite! It was spacious, clean and quiet. And, at around $60 USD including a buffet breakfast, was good value. The only real downside for me is its location. It is not near the subway and about 10 Km to the Bund. The hotel staffs service is not positive, and should be improved. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
