Location, staff service and facility is good. The room was quiet. It is not in the very touristy area. Not far from Pan Men, Surging waves garden and other locations in walking distance.Big problem about the room (which I, however, only found out the next morning). When I woke up, felt really bad and inspected the room more closely, I found that the ceiling of the room was all full with black mold! So I only can advise to check the room closely before moving in!

Very good hotel facilities and a nice Christmas-Decoration (not too much...) made me feel real good in the Bamboo-Grove in December 2011.
The staff acted very professional, friendly and patient in each situation. No problem for me as not Mandarin speaking, as the whole staff - including also some of the cleaning personal - spoke very good English. Room, bed & bathroom were very clean and well equipped. TV with a variety of international programs. Breakfast is, both Chinese and European, very good with a great variety.
Same for the meals in the hotel restaurants and all that for reasonable prices. The hotel itself is situated in a lake & garden surrounding with nice views form the room as well as from the restaurants. Nice bar in the lobby with good life-music in the evening with very friendly and good English speaking staff.
I took the from the hotel offered tour-package '1-day-Suzhou' which was very good organized and gave a good impression of the main sights of Suzhou. Overall: I would go there again and recommend the Bamboo-Grove-Hotel for whatever stay in Suzhou.
Concerning the booking service through TCG:
- Very good and easy to handle website for all the booking
- Very useful links not only for flights but also for trains
- Very good prices compared to other travel-agencies
- Very good service after the internet-booking including extra-information via email or phone-calls in case of probable misunderstandings. I saved a bunch of Yuan as I had booked the Suzhou-tour twice, which was then changed by TCG and they asked via phone about the language of the guided tour.

Nice Hotel with really good service in a phantastic water town landscape. All was fine. Only for the rain in Suzhou no one can be made guilty. May be the holy god don't wanted that I can spend my trip in sunshine there. But in generally I'm very satisfied. Even the rainy photos from Suzhou have a special note.

Location --> only stayed for two nights. Easier to get back from city centre to hotel with trishaw about 30 yuan for 25mins. Trishaw experience was not bad. Usually hard to wave a vacant taxi in city centre.
Booking experience through TCG Booking Center is Fast and reliable.
