This was a beautiful hotel and the room was superior. We had several problems with restaurant in the hotel. Firstly I wanted to change our included breakfast from the last day to the day of check in. We checked in very early on day one and were due to leave the hotel at 5am on our departure day. This was an impossible request which is ridiculous as it does not matter what day we have our included breakfast as long as we only have the correct number of breakfasts. We then had a long day on tour and returned to the hotel around 6-30pm. We thought we would look at the information in the room to see what restaurants were available. there was no information so we called reception. They advised a Western and Chinese buffet was available on 23rd floor. We went up for dinner to find we were the only customers and they said the buffet was not available we would have to order from the menu. we were so tired we decided to do this. We had a spaghetti bolognaise which was fine and then we ordered fruit salad and ice cream. We received a bowl with ice cream, we decided not to worry about fruit salad as we were tired and wanted to go to bed. After we finished our ice cream they then brought to our table a plate of cut up fruit covered in egg mayonnaise. It was awful and we could not eat, but they proceeded to charge us full price for all this. We do not need to say we did not eat at the hotel again. Then the most embarrassing experience we have ever had whilst staying in a hotel. we were in our room having called to ask for a luggage trolley and in came the house keeper and whilst we stood there she was opening fridges and counting drinks, in the bathroom counting towels, opening cupboards counting pillows etc. We were made to feel like criminals. We have never experienced this in all the time we have stayed at a hotel. Even though the room etc at this property was lovely we will not stay here during our visit next year as we do not like being treated like this.
