TCG Booking service: Excellent.
Booking service was no fuss and accurate.
I found that my trip to Dalian is very interesting and delightful. I stayed in Bohai Pearl Hotel, Dalian for 4 nights + 1 night extension. The hotel is strategically situated at the heart of Dalian city. The access to the public transport is just a few steps away from the hotel entrance. The railway station, city train, buses and taxis are abundantly available and easy to ride. The hotel staff is friendly even though limited in English conversation. I did get a massage provided by in-house masseur and the service is great at affordable rate. You can have a request for the boy or girl masseur. I had a massage by boy masseur batch number 113 (I forgot his name... terribly sorry). He's very kewl and friendly but I used signal language a lot to communicate. At one time, I can't open my room's door with the entry card, I do lodge a report at the lobby counter and they send the security boys and the housekeeping lady to overcome that problem in a blink of eyes. The room interior (standard room) is not so great yet comfortable. The bathroom is clean and neat without a funny smell.
Shopping is great and also nearby to hotel. I went to Victory Plaza, the largest underground mall in Dalian. It's spacious but I guess not enough ventilation provided. Hundreds of shops available sell everything from handicrafts, leather goods, pearl, jade, and clothing to the latest electronic gadgets and even military uniforms. It was an awesome experience. But be careful because you can be easily lost in this underground mall. Bargaining is the most attractive activity here. I used a calculator to bargain because they don't know how to speak in English. You can bargain up to 60% less from the introduction price. At night, there was a plenty of night markets around the hotel. One is next to the Ramada hotel, just a block away from pearl bohai hotel. I also pay a visit to the Russian street and you will be greeted with dolls stalls everywhere. Most items are coming from Russia. Besides, there is also prestigious mall selling high-brand items such as prada, Salvatore ferragamo (genuine) etc. but I do forgot the mall name. It's so huge till I can't finish wandering inside it.
Muslim food is available but really hard to find. Luckily I brought a printed address of the muslim restaurant (Muqam Muslim Restaurant) and managed to find it with the help from taxi driver. The food is tasty and delicious and to some extent it's almost similar to Malaysian. The hospitality is great even we've been cater with free food when one of my friends gave them a souvenir from Malaysia. Thanks a lot.
I also notice that Dalian city is very clean and well organized. The beggars are nowhere to disturb the tourists. The city also has many parks and at that time it was a summer and tonees of people flocked to the park to have their own activities. Not to mention, I went to Olympic Square as well. The largest square in Asia, the Xinghai Square at Dalian World Expo Centre etc. The taxi drivers are honest and all fares are based on the meter. I do double-check few times since I travel with taxi a lot and the fare is comparable. No blood-sucking charges. Bravo to Dalian taxi driver... keep it up.
The scenery at the Dalian seaside is very beautiful and natural. Again, I forgot the name of the place I'm really sorry but I do remember you must passed the shell museum (big castle on the hill) if you are going there. In overall it's a worthy trip and I do gain a lot of experience from Dalian people. I wish I can be there again sometime in the future and for sure I will do an accommodation booking through TCG. It is convenience and reliable. The response is quick and the customer service officer is very helpful. I just do everything online/email and no phone call is needed. Good job TCG!
Thanks and have nice days ahead.
Best regards,
Azam T
