My stay at the Camellia Hotel in Kunming was great. The staff was extremely helpful and English was near perfect. The hotel facilities were top-notch. And breakfast was excellent with plenty to eat from a large selection including fruits and pastries. The room I had was large and though I had no air-conditioning, I was provided with a large fan and that was more than enough. The beds are huge and comfortable...room was clean and well kept. It had a large bathroom and if you ignore the no-slip shower insert, was clean and well stocked. I plan to stay there again on my out of Yunnan Province and will recommend it to my China-bound friends.

Just stayed at the Camellia last night for a stopover on the way to Dali. Rooms were basic, but clean. Only complaints were with the shower curtain and non-slip mat, VERY mildewed. Also, this site lists an air conditioner as a room amenity, but there was none. In fact, the room got a bit warm as there was no air flow even though the night was cool. Breakfast was typical for Chinese hotel. We were very satisfied considering the price and the fact that it is a Chinese hotel. Would stay again.

The hotel isn't so bad for this price. The breakfast is not expensive and good. The bar is as well not expensive. Free Wifi. Where can you clean your cloths? You should better speak mandarin then english but still you can nearly find what you want.
