This is in great location and very affordable. Only few staff speak english but they are very helpful.
Chinese breakfast is ok. Except that they do not have catsup and they seldom serve rice.
There's a supermarket next to the hotel. McDo, KFC, Starbucks, and Pizzahut are just walking distance. Very close to Bell Tower and the shopping mall, not to mention small shops in the area. Walmart is few blocks across South Street.
City Hotel is highly recommended.

The City Hotel in Xi?n was better than advertised, and was probably the best location in the city for what I wanted to see and do. There is a wonderful mix of Chinese and western restaurants within easy walking distance, and having a Starbucks across the street was a wonderful benefit. The hotel was full, yet the staff did an excellent job of processing those checking in and departing in a friendly and timely way. Breakfast was included in the room price, and was a good variety of western and traditional Chinese breakfast. We will stay at the City Hotel again!

Very nice hotel. Of course breakfast is Chinese - what would you expect in China! All staff are very polite and efficient. Very good security at hotel. Excellent location. It seems to a take a long time to checkout though!

Of course I'm more than well satisfied with the service provided by you! As you could provide the actual price/night for a room even before it was set by the hotel tells me all I need to know about the high level of service provided! You'll most probably have another request from Norway quite soon. :)

Again, after yet another stay a City Hotel, Xi'an, there is nothing to complain about. And again I'll have to send a word of recognition to the housekeeping staff! (Efficient, high quality, polite and very friendly staff...always!) Being Xi'an people yourself, you of course know everything about the very convenient location of this hotel. :)

We had a wonderful time in Xi'an at the City Hotel. We ate a delicious Huo Guo in the muslim neiborhood behind the drum tower. We went to a wonderful tea shop and restaurant who have a shankxii opera show at the 5th floor of the restaurant. We went to the great Mosque, the wild goose temple and the terra cota warriors museum. We just had a dissapointment as we wanted to get out with a night train to Shanghai, all trains were fully booked and we had to fly over instead. It's a pity we cannot easily buy train tickets from abroad.

You very well know I am. From earlier experiences as well as this time, thank you.

I've been staying at City Hotel a few times by now, and the last visit was quite long(26 nights). No complaints and a special compliments to the housekeeping staff, very good quality service. My plan is to go back to Xi'an late September and I'll most probably stay at City again.

We were satisfied with the service of TCG Booking Center.

We were not satisfied with the service of Xian City Hotel. We arrived around 3.30 pm and got a room at the street side of the hotel. Because of the noise, we immidiately asked for a different room. We were told that the hotel was fully booked, so a different room was not possible. In the evening, around 9 pm, we arrived back to our room, there was not only the noise of the traffic, but also loud music from the street. We again asked for a different more quiet room. We really had to convince the hotel manager to give us a different room, they were very unwilling. The Xian City Hotal is a large hotel with many rooms, we didn't believe at all that there was not another room available. Eventually they finally gave us a different room, which also proved that the hotel was not fully booked at all. This room was smaller.
In addition, all the rooms we got had a twin bed, instead of a double bed.

Breakfast in the morning was not what we expected. Breakfast was included, but this turned out to be a chinese breakfast. We offered to pay the difference between the Western breakfast and the Chinese breakfast. This was not possible, so we ended up paying the full price for our own breakfast. Again, very unwilling staff.

In conclusion, we were not happy at all with the service of the Xian City Hotel.
