Stayed two nights at the City Inn Bandao on business. Rooms were clean and staff was very friendly. Manager speaks English and was very helpful. Normal front desk staff do not speak English. Easy access to walking to the park and various shops close by. Several banks located within 5 minute walk for exchanging currency if needed. However, the Agricultural Bank near the hotel did not exchange currency for foreigners. Several other banks to choose from including ones close to the elevated traffic circle for currency exchange. About a 10 minute walk to Wu Ma Street for shopping and plenty of taxis and rickshaws available out the front door. Breakfast was good/OK and of Chinese fare. Rooms included high speed Internet access and also WiFi available in rooms and lobby. Some places to eat close by within 2-3 minute walk. Hotel requires a cash deposit and payment in cash as they do not accept foreign credit cards. They will accept deposit in foreign currency but you??e need RMB to pay for your stay. The room rate is not expensive and the breakfast is just ok. The hotel receptionist can speak basic English. The hotel is close to city center and shopping area, and it is also close to the train station. In addition, the hotel is near to Zhongshan Park, Century Square, so you can enjoy the good view of the beautiful city through the window in the room if you have stayed in a rioom with window.
