Canaan International Hotel Xian - they upgraded us to 2 bedrooms which was excellent for 3 people, however a small suggestion, I feel the bathroom, shower and shower curtain needs cleaning attention. Staff very helpful with internet usage and sightseeing.

I stayed at the Canaan International Hotel with my daughter, Ellie Rea, arranged by yourselves.
The hotel was very friendly and the staff helpful. The rooms were large and comfortable with all that we needed. It was very central and within walking distance of many interesting areas of Xi'an, although initially the hotel was hard to find. The breakfasts were not good - my only criticism of the hotel.

Firstly, let me say that I have been most satisfied with the excellent service offered by ChinaTravelGuide, and thanks to you for your efforts on my behalf.
I am sorry to say I cannot speak quite so highly of the Canaan International Hotel. Although International English was almost non-existent in the staff and nearly impossible to communicate in the restaurant. My appetite was not helped by seeing so many dead fish in the tanks at the restaurant entrance. Generally, I would not recommend it as a place to stay to future visitors.

The Canaan International Hotel in Xian is a great value. The staff is very friendly, and the rooms are kept very clean. However, if you don't speak Chinese, then you will have trouble communicating with the staff. (They seem to be trying to change this situation.) This includes the people that staff their tour office. We had to find another place to arrange transport to local tourist sites.
The TravelChinaGuide booking center worked efficiently and without any glitches. Our reservations were on file at each of the hotels that we reserved and at the price given to us by the TCG booking center. The only thing that was not as expected was that for one hotel a deluxe room with double bed was requested and none were available, so a standard room at the same hotel was suggested by TCG staff. These rooms had two single beds, and this was not made clear until we arrived at the hotel.

Hi, 1. TCG booking is fast, efficient, and the only thing i need to highlight is I can't get a reply after filling up the online booking form. I e-mailed tcg_hotel@yahoo.com directly, and it went smooth after that.
2. For a USD26 per night double bed room, I have no complaint. The staff service were good, the location of hotel is just at the heart of the city. The only thing need improvement IMHO is: there is no "NO SMOKING" sign inside the lift, consider I'm not a smoker...

Yes, thank you, your booking service proved most satisfactory.
The hotel, Canaan International Hotel Xi'an, was also more than satisfactory. The room was more than adequate. It was well sized, clean, comfortable and well priced. Staff service throughout the hotel and especially the restuarant, was very friendly. In terms of its location it is slightly out of the central city area but we did walk from the Bell Tower back to the hotel on one occasion and it was really not that far. In any event there are a couple of other things to consider about location -
1) Taxis are plentiful and are cheap; 2) Some of the major attractions such as the terricotta warriorsa are some way outside of the city and so it makes no real difference where in the city the hotel is located.
I would certainly recommend this hotel to anybody looking for somewhere to stay with this 'star' rating.
