The Hotel was ok, although the staff behind the front desk could have been a bit more friendly and helpful. The office area for the computer would benefit by having English instructions about using the internet. As it was, the computer was set up with the keyboard in Mandarin, not English. I did ask them to post a card for me but it did not arrive. The taxi back to the airport was very expensive. It did not cost me very much from the airport to the hotel. On the way back the hotel arranged the taxi, and it was four times more expensive, and I had to pay the tolls. The room was ok and clean. It was what I expected for the money. So overall, I was happy enough with the hotel, but felt that the staff could improve.

The booking experience was fine.

To whom it may concern,

My brief comment below.

1. Beijing Golden Palace Silver Street Hotel
I have stayed at the Hotel before but found it even better this time. Good service, clean rooms etc.

2. TCG Booking Center: The response from you was excellent. Quick and correct, which I do appreciate very much.

Next I will definitely contact you again.

Best regards,

I would rate the hotel as a 2 star hotel, not a 3 star hotel. Floors were
dirty, elevator was slow. Seemed dark. It's located down an alley.

No problems with booking at all thru the internet.

I stayed at this hotel for four ...
I stayed at this hotel for four nights in January. They offered buffet breakfast. Hair salon next door and the lobby coffee house was run by mom and pop couple, were very sweet people. Found out they lived 30 minutes from me when they lived in the States. Rooms were clean. In the heart of town so there was plenty of shopping and lots of eatery. Very nice

Facility : carpets very dirty, towels old and grey
Location: Very good, Work being done on front of hotel did not make it look welcoming.
Staff: 1 or 2 were helpful.

BUT MOST DID NOT SPEAK ENGLISH AND WERE NOT AT ALL EMPATHETIC, AFTER SEVERAL HOURS OF TALKING THEY WERE UNABLE TO CLARIFY DETAILS AND ONE KEPT LAUGHING EVEN THOUGH SHE COULD SEE THAT I AS QUITE UPSET!!!!!

I was very pleased with TCG. The booking was fast and efficient. I will use TCG again in the future. In fact, I`m in the process of planning my summer holiday now. I want to travel with the Trans Siberian Railway from Moscow to Vladivostok, and from there I plan to go to Harbin. I will use TCG to book my hotel in Harbin, and probably, a flight from Harbin to Beijing. Or perhaps I`ll take a train on that stretch to. If I`m not tired of trains after the Trans Siberian.

The hotel was, more or less, OK. The main reason for my choice was the location and surroundings, which was very good. I was also very pleased with the staff, everybody was sweet and helpful. I was not satisfied with the room I booked though, an economy room. It didn`t have windows (just to a corridor), so it was dark and warm and the air bad. I immediately changed to another room, the reception was very helpful with this, but of course it was more expensive. I ended up paying 50% more. Not a big issue, but I would not have taken the economy room if I knew what it was like. The walls at the hotel are thin, you could hear everything people in the neighbouring rooms did. And the cleaning of the room could have been a little better.
And why on earth are all Chinese hotel beds so hard? I will bring a small air madras to use on top of the hotel bed my next time in China.

Clean Room. Good location. Helpful ...
Clean Room. Good location. Helpful staff. Only setback is the "coffee house" which provides breakfast. Food cold. Hot water not readily available. Given upon request. Toaster not working - must manually hold down the button otherwise bread will spring up untoasted. Butter and Jam appeared to be rationed. Hotel should refurbish place as most guests take breakfast there.

Dear Nicky

1. Yes, I received very fast/prompt response while making my booking with TCG

2. Location and surrounding was very good, right in the heart of the city

and very close to the walking street ' Wang Fu Jing'.
Staff service was excellent, check in was allowed at 0900 and due to early check in

we were given room in the VIP building with no extra cost.

We were family of 4 and were given two rooms but as we requested for connecting room,

the hotel allotted us the connecting rooms even though we have checked in 1 hour already.

Excellent service.

The reception desk was cordial and very warming so was the tour counter.

However the coffee shop of the hotel where ABF was served was not up to standard.

The tables were dirty, choice of breakfast was very limited but staff were good.
