The hotel lobby looks better because of its renovation. But the rooms are so old. The furniture and bathroom ceramic tiles are old and look unpleasant. In one room the toilet is bad. Water flows all the time. Toilet paper is not the new one. It seems collecting the rest of the old ones. If they want to save money, they should give us the new one for the first day, then no change the new one for the other days. But they let us use the old one for the first day. For service stuff, most of them are OK. We select this hotel many times because it is near the shopping area, especially food. We visited other hotels last year because of Lido hotel oldness. But this year we thought that the room rate increase because of renovate. So, we came back again. We found that only lobby is renovated, other are worse. We make decision that we will not come back to this hotel again.

However, since the hotel's business goes as usual, the renovation is being done part by part. Before your stay at the hotel, the Deluxe Rooms and the Business Rooms have been refurbished. Recently, they will have a renovation on the Standard Rooms. The hotel staff are sincerely sorry for your unpleasant stay at their hotel and they promised that they will give you a free upgrade to Business Room if they have the honor to serve you next time (except during the fairs). Overall I think Lido Hotel is ok, good location as it is quite convinience. Bit far from subway station if by walking.

Suggest the hotel to wash and clean the shower curtain, very dirty; Change a new batch of towels. Improve the toilet.
I was surprise that the we have to pay for the 3 in 1 sachets.

Booking through TCG is very reliable, thanks for providing such a prompt and good service.
This was the 3rd time I made booking through TCG. You have never fail us.

Thank you for opportunity to comment. Lido hotel is getting tatty and the bathroom needs updating. Business centre is very expensive, I would not go back.

The trip before last trip, I have got a nice room. There is nothing to complain, but last trip I booked for the very same type of room, I've got a bad bathroom. There was no bathtub in the room. Other things else were fine.

Actually, i think the staff was very eager 2 help when we told them the shower water was cold eventhough we had it in full heat! However, the receptionist said it was done when it was not. Anyway, we think it was quite good.=D

Thank you. All arrangements made by TravelChinaGuide.com were perfect. The Hotel Lido is very well located in the centre of town, staff is very helpful .However the upkeep of the hotel rooms is bad, dusty it needs to do upkeep and maintain inside what is visible from outside meaning it looks excellent from outside but is poor in quality of rooms.

Everything else is ok.

My family stayed 4 days at Lido Hotel Guongzhou arriving on 19th September 2008. It is a typical 3 stars hotel with limited services. Room is in old condition but clean. The bed is hard but anyway we enjoyed the stay there because of the perfect location near Beijing road which surrounded by shopping area within walking distance.

Booking through TCG is easy and convenience. They also provide suggestion and recommendation which is very useful so that you are well equipped before you travel to China.

After reading the comments on Lido ...

After reading the comments on Lido hotel I fear that I am going to book to another hotel. Indeed, I was planning to stay a few days at Lido, but when I read that the rooms smell, are not clean, are dusty and that the staff is not welcoming, I prefer not to take any risk.
