With its convenient transportation, Dong Fang Hotel is located in the centre of downtown. It is 1.5 kilometers apart from Tian'anmen Square and 10 kilometers apart from Beijing Railway Station. After the recent rebuilding, in order to get a broad room and great daylight, the entire guest rooms in the main building are equipped with the balconies. It is about 15mins' walk to Tiananmen Square and 10 minutes to the subway line. You could enjoy the street life while you walking, which is very interesting. I stayed there for two nights, and room was clean. There are a lot of choices for breakfasts and everyone I met seemed being happy staying there. It's really a recommendable hotel.

The hotel was quite satisfactory although the location makes it more suitable for tour groups than individual travelers. If one is prepared to walk to the nearest subway station it becomes more suitable but other hotels in this price range are closer. We found the walk interesting as most was through back streets where the people live and work. Our initial trip to the hotel was marred by the fact that we took the airport bus and got off at the main rail station. The taxi drivers refused to use their meters and insisted on extortionate rates to get to the hotel. It would have been cheaper to take a taxi all the way from the airport. The hotel restaurant was not particularly good but there are many satisfactory restaurants in the area.
As on other occasions your service was extremely good and I would recommend it to anyone planning individual travel in China.

The service from your side has been fantastic. Your follow-up was unexpected but very nice and efficient.
The Dong Fang Hotel is a nice hotel. The staff is friendly but could in my view speak a little better English.
We stayed at Dong Fang twice and the first time we were not very happy because the AC and Internet was not working in our room.
But your follow up made a big difference. You asked us in this follow up if we had been staying at the hotel and if we were happy.
I answered together with my complaints and when we came back from our trip to Xian and Chengdu we had a great welcome.
We got a room high up where the noice from the traffic was no problem. The Internet worked and so did the AC.
Moreover we had got a big bouquet of flowers and some fruit (see enclosed picture
We shall certainly use your esteemed company again next time.

We were greatly disappointed with the the service in the Dong Fang Hotel Dining Room. The food was very slow to come, and the dishes did not come at the same time. The service to table was very poor. The decor of the dining room and the quality of furnishings etc. is well below the standard of a good Beijing hotel. We would not recommend that you use this hotel.
