Our stay at the Dongdan Yindi Hotel in Beijing overall was positive. The staff were friendly and willing to accommodate our individual needs, including allowing us to check in early and leave a little late. Their in house travel service was also very helpful in arranging reasonably priced transportation to the airport for our group of 5 travelers. We were also particularly pleased with the location; close to Tiananmen Square on a street lined with shops and restaurants and an easy walk to the nearest subway stop. The rooms were clean, spacious, and seemed to have been recently refurbished. On the downside the restrooms were not quite as fancy with nothing but a curtain separating the toilet from the shower. Given the price, location, and friendly service, however, this place is definitely high on my list (I stayed in about 6 different places in Beijing) of possible accommodations in Beijing.

TravelChinaGuide hotel booking service was very good, particularly for travelers with little experience in China. After booking the hotel they asked for me to reply to an email confirming my intention to stay at the hotel. They also sent some basic information regarding the hotel booking process which might be useful for someone who had not booked a hotel in China before. Finally, they sent a document with the address and a map of the hotel in both Chinese and English. Very useful for anyone trying to explain to a taxi driver how to get there.

Dear TCG,

I would like to thank you for your services that you had provided for us.

We stayed in Dongdan Yindi Hotel for 2 nights. Overall, the hotel was satisfied. Even though, the faculty seems to be old, the room that we stayed (Standard Room: Twin Beds) was very comfort and there was nothing to worry about. In my point of view, you should use your own shower equipments including soap, shampoo and hair dryer (but no need for towel). All the staff are very friendly and we can talked to them in English. For the location of the hotel, I think it is very convenient. On the opposite side of the hotel, there was a convenient store and internet bar. You could also take a taxi to Forbidden City which only cost 10yuan. However, the morning traffic is very busy in front of the hotel.

I would rate this hotel 7/10.

Great bargain for the buck. Rooms were clean and reception was nice. Location was good. Booking was easy. Just a 15-25 minute walk to Wanfujing, Lama Temple, Bell Tower, Forbidden City, etc. Located next to Quinliang Hutong, great for pictures. Good Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor, ask for the Chinese menu because English menu is more expensive. You can also schedule daily tours to various sites. If you plan to stay longer ask for a discount. Peace.
