Eva Inn was just as nice as expected. The room was fairly small, but the large, nice balcony facing the river more than compensated for that. When traveling and experiencing China, I prefer staying at good quality Chinese hotels. Eva Inn had very friendly staff, the room was clean and the rates were good. The mattress was as expected of the standard hard Chinese type. Almost everything was within walking distance, actually including the Railway Station, even if the locals said I needed to take the bus or a taxi to go there. Bus no. 2 stopped just around the corner from the hotel and the fourth stop was close to the Railway Station.
TCG Booking Center was very easy to use.

The hotel room is clean and comfortable. It is conveniently located, about 5 minutes walk to Zhengyang walking street where there are many shops and restaurants.
Staff service is acceptable.
The cafe beside the hotel serves excellent grilled fish, which is much better than some Italian restaurants in Singapore. The next time I visit Guilin, I will probably choose Eva Inn agan because of the grilled fish.
TCG always provides good booking service.

My wife and I have just returned from our trip to Guilin and Yangshuo. Generally, we had a good time and met up with some nice people there.
My comments on the hotel are as follows:
We had no problem with the check in as there was a girl there who confirmed our name and booking with the reception on arrival at the hotel on 4th July. The only disappointing point was that the room allocated to us did not have a fridge!!! Nor was there a view as we had the window facing the back of another building and the staircase!! We were told that if we wanted to change our room with a view we would have to pay extra CNY80 per day!!! We opted to remain where we were. However, on our return from Yangshuo, we were given a better room (with a view of the river facing the road)and the room did have a fridge!!! We were told that the hotel upgraded us!! I am surprised that some other travellers said that the staff could speak English which was not my experience (they spoke very little English!!) and there were no foreign exchange facilities either at the hotel.
TCG booking as usual was very good and we had no problem with it.
