Garden City Hotel is a wonderful hotel in Chengdu. Good location, the hotel enjoys easy access to the train station and the airport, the hotel is also very close to the Business district and the Exhibition center. Room was very clean, and all the facilities work well. The well-mannered hotel staffs are helpful. The hotel is an ideal accommodation in Chengdu, I really enjoyed my staying. Their vouchers and chinese directions worked very well. We stated at Garden City for a total of 5 nights and it was very good. The staff however speak very little English. The resturant has western meals, however thy still taste chinese. The big plus is the hotel is very handy to the shops and town square (with its statue of Mao). Rather prompt with the booking response.But I am not satisfied with the facility of Garden City Hotel in Chengdu. As a 4 star hotel,the condition of the room and bathroom is not up to standard/expectation. Room furniture, bath towels and toiletries were rather old and used. It was very disappointing as we move out the next day to Kempinski Hotel in Chengdu. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are comfortable, clean and safe. There is the Carefour Supermarket and cinema next door and there is a tour desk at the ground floor. The staff were all friendly, and many spoke some English. The Junior Suite was an excellent value. In particular, I want to single out Saif, who spoke excellent English, helped me improve my Chinese, and went out of his way to make sure I had a great time during my stay. Although the business single room was quiet compact, inside decoration was brand new. The location for this hotel was very convenience. I would also like to express my appreciation for you "Jolin". The staff were very helpful and the hotel was located centrally. Unfortunately adjacent new building construction work caused excessive noise at night and in the early morning intermittently. There was nothing the hotel could do, and I'm sure it was a greater annoyance to the hotel staff than the customers. I would stay there again. Best wishes.
