However, the fact about the Gloria Hotel in Sanya is that you don't always get what you pay for. Especially during the New Year's Day or Chinese spring festival, the price is MUCH higher than normal. The service at the front desk was no where near 5 star standards, and although I live in Shanghai and can speak a little Chinese, I did wonder how many tourists would communicate with most of the staff who could not speak English. Overall, I really like sanya city, but may not stay at this hotel next time.
All of the staffs here were excellent, very attentive and with really good English.
This large resort is a 15 minute taxi/bus ride from the city of Sanya. The hotel provides a free shuttle at 10am daily, but you'll have to get a taxi back (unless you want to stay in the busy city for 6 hours). We walked around all of the hotels in Yalong Bay & the Sheraton was in a different class to anything else but this hotel was by far the best of the rest.
