I was very satisfied with the service provided by TCG.
The facility, staff service, location as well as the surrounding were just great and I enjoyed my stay at the Harbour Plaza Hotel, Kunming.

At first I was taken a back on whether to book the Harbour Plaza hotel or else where after reading my fellow country man comments. However, I was brave enough to book my family and for 3 nights at Harbour Plaza and it turns out to be wondeful experience for us. The price is a bit expensive but it worth the stay as most of their staff were in fact friendly and helpful. Moreover I found their singporean chef at the coffee house was so good and even offer us "laksa" which is out of the menu !
I will tell my friends to stay at this hotel for sure.

My wife and I enjoyed our brief stays in the Harbor Plaza in Kunming and in the Lijiang Jian Nan Chun Courtyard. Both hotels were in ideal locations for walking, shopping, and dining in their respective cities.
Hotel staff was very attentive and courteous. The rooms were spacious and nicely furnished. The facilities were spotlessly clean. Each hotel provided a base for our daily adventures. We had several meals in the hotel restaurants. Breakfast via the buffet line was excellent.
This was our first experience in Kunming and in Lijiang. We can readily recommend both the China Travel Group, and the Harbor Plaza and the Jian Nan Chun Courtyard!
Thanks again for your helpful service,
Peter Stanek

The service of TCG Hotel Booking Center is excellent.
However, the same cannot be said of Harbour Plaza Kunming. This hotel is definitely not a 5-star hotel. At best, it would be a 3 1/2 star hotel. The only 5-star about the hotel is its prices.
The location of the hotel is poor. It is surrounded by buildings and therefore has very little sight of the Green Lake. If you are staying on very high floors (say 12 and above) and have rooms 12, 13, 15. or 16 (ie 1212, 1213,etc), you may catch a poor distant glimpse of the Green Lake. There was not porter service offered. The doorman merely opened your taxi door when you arrived and offered almost no other assistance either with your luggage or a greeting. The check in was slow and tedious with separate forms to be completed for my wife and I. And topping it all, we booked rooms for double occupancy and only one of us was given the complimentary breakfast. I have travelled almost the world and stayed in more than 300 hotel with 4-star to 6-star rating. This is the first time that I was given one breakfast when staying double occupancy. There was little information provided about tours available. Even more confusing was, one conceirge offered sight-seeing tours from one tour company and another conceirge offered sight-seeing tours from another tour company and feigned ignorance to the offer made by the earlier conceirge. I will find it very difficult to ever consider staying in this hotel again on my next trip to Kunming. Anyone looking for a 5-star hotel should not be considering Harbour Plaza Kunming based on the experience I had. Our 5 night-stay for circa RMB 6,000 was definitely not value for money.
