My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and enjoyed the whole experience. We could not recommend it more - the staff were friendly, efficient and the quality was considerably above most "chinese" hotels. The food was good, rooms very pleasant and we used the hotel vehicle to take us to the more outlying sights. It worked very well and the driver was excellent - knew the sights and the times taken to visit and offered very helpful insights in what to do and when. Overall we could not have been happier and we certainly would recommend the hotel and Kunming as a city to visit in China - albeit slightly more ethnic in nature - but again that adds to the interest! I only have a minor complaint: the hotel told me it was difficult to order a taxi for me at 6 o' clock in the morning (strange: in other cities in China this was never a problem!) and therefore I had to use their own car-service which charged me 200 RMB to get from the hotel to the airport. The rooms were comfortable, the staff friendly and efficient and the facilities. We particularly liked the string quartet who played in the lobby. They were very good.
