I am happy to say that I was very pleased with the Hanting Express. The room was very clean and comfortable; the staff was very helpful and agreeable. I was pleased to be able to have breakfast in the hotel. It was near to The Bund and within easy distance from the busy streets of Shanghai and also the old city and gardens at Yuyuan.

I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to other travellers to Shanghai. If I return I would book my room there again.

I found your hotel to be extremely clean, everything I needed was in my bedroom, breakfasts were quick, convenient and tasty, and the hotel location was very convenient. My only difficulty was I had read a review of your hotel which indicated that the staff spoke some English but unfortunately for me, I did not find anyone there who did speak any English and I was unable to communicate with anyone there. I don't mean to say that was a fault of the hotel as I realize that possibly that particular hotel does not have too many American guests so probably there is no need for English there as most of your guests seem to be Chinese families enjoying your services.

Dear Lena Qian,

I was very happy with my stay at the Han Ting Business Hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke very good English. When I arrived I was a bit concerned that, as it was on a busy street, it might be noisy. But the windows were triple-glazed and the room was very quiet. The bed was comfortable and I slept very well. The location was excellent - a short taxi ride away from most places that we wanted to see. We would have walked more, but construction along the Bund made walking there noisy and dusty. Hopefully that is temporary. There is a wide choice of restaurants in the 'Cool Docks' development next to the hotel. Free internet in the lobby really helped us because we could search for information and check mail. I would recommend this choice of hotel to anyone wanting to see Shanghai on a budget.

The booking procedure went very smoothly and when we arrived, the booking details were all available and exactly what we had ordered. The hotel was not able to take our American Express travellers' cheques, but they let us check in and take our bags to the room before directing us to the Bank of China across the road to cash them. I was a bit nervous about making bookings using TCG, because I had not used them before, but I was most impressed by the service and the regular e-mails before we went. I would recommend this as a way to have a trouble-free trip to China.
