Hanting Express(the bund) hotel: location of Hotel was great. I didn’t use hotel restaurant I found great food at a Indian restaurant walking distance from the hotel and also lots of eating places nearby. room was clean and comfortable. staff was friendly. I would stay there again.
One thing I wanna tell better if they change or clean out the lobby settee.

The Hanting (Bund) Express is a good value for your money and offers adequate rooms and service. The rooms were spacious and clean, bed was hard, and breakfast left something to be desired. The hotel service could have been better. Very little English was spoken, so although we got our rooms without a problem, any questions thereafter when unanswered due to the language barrier. We did find the location of the hotel to be it's biggest draw. Immediately next door to the hotel are "The Cool Docks," a cluster of bars and restaurants surrounding a courtyard and fountain. Food was good and the atmosphere was great. Also, there is a Starbucks. The Bund is within walking distance, but further than the description would lead you to believe. The nearest Metro station is about a 10-15 minute walk. Taxis are plentiful in front of the hotel.
The biggest downside was that one of the nearby bars played loud music until late at night and could be heard through the walls and windows. If you are a light sleeper, this might not be the place for you. Also, there was a air conditioner/heater in the room but we were unable to use it because it only featured Chinese characters. An instructional guide in English would have been helpful.
Booking with TCG was great! No complaints. Keep up the good work!

The hotel is better than a back paper’s place, but facilities are very basic. You can see the wear and tear. But it is clean and comfortable enough.

The location of the hotel was great...near The Bund, Yuyuan Gardens, The People's Square, and Nanjing Road. There was a restaurant in the hotel which I did not use. We found superb food at a restaurant two doors from the hotel. Taxi service was good. Bus service was about two blocks away. English was not spoken while we were there. Fortunately, we had Chinese friends with us.
The only problem we had was with the toilet. It had to be cleaned out (use of a plunger) twice while we were there.
I would stay there again. We had a room with two twin beds for $51 during the EXPO in August of 2010. Normally rooms are cheaper.
