General

Pingyao Harmony Guesthouse, which dates back to the middle period of Ming Dynasty about 500 years ago, is 100 meters away from the South Gate of Pingyao Ancient City. It covers an area of 600 square meters, providing rooms with distinct qualities. The present Harmony Guesthouse was converted based on the original constructions in the standards of three-star hotel, maintaining the Ming and Qing Dynasty architectural features, simple but elegant. The rooms are well-equipped and elaborately decorated with traditional Tukangs and antique furniture in Ming-and-Qing-Dynasties style. Televisions, air-conditioners, IDD & DDD and fire alarm system are supplied. Wireless internet access is also available in Pingyao Harmony Guesthouse.

I did not get a chance to stay here, as I only stayed one day in town. However, I met Sarah on the street and she runs Harmony Guesthouse and the Cozy Bar next door and she is the most helpful person I had met in town. She advised me on train tickets, etc. The food at Cozy Bar is very good and well priced and the bar itself is very warm and cozy in winter. I would stay at Harmony Guest House if I were not leaving.
