It was the perfect hotel at the most convenient location (a 7 min walk to the entrance of Forbidden City and a 5 min. walk to the busiest shopping street, Wangfujing). My husband and I spent 5 nights at Hotel Kapok and almost didn't want to leave. The hotel had all the modern amenities that one finds in a nice hotel in the U.S. The starry-light courtyard gave this modern boutique hotel a whimsical feel. The staff were friendly, attentive and courteous but needed to improve on their English. The Business Center also needed better internet connection. I spoke fluent mandarin therefore had no communication problem, but I did see one or two guests struggle a little. My husband and I would definitely go back to this hotel again.

Be warned for this hotel. From the outside the hotel is absolutely OK. However if you look to the details not everything is working like leakage in my bathroom and other small things. The worst thing is the rate. They change the rate everyday. It happened with three people before me including myself. They also charge money if something is broken like 30 US dollars for a broken lamp (unknown to me). You can start a discusstion but the only reply you will get is "I am so sorry". I wish you all the best if you choose this hotel.
Have a nice holiday.
