Whenever I called you, there was someone answer the phone, without any exception. I am so glad that the replyer on another side of the compluter is human beings. This hotel is extremly well located on the Nanjing pedestrian Street, the location is prefect. Hotel Sofitel Hyland is a typical European style, the bed is very soft and comfortable and the amendities in the room were sufficient. Their breakfast is also impressed, plenty of dish selection, I enjoyed it very much. I have been to Shanghai for several times, Hotel Sofitel Hyland is the best one. I definitely will stay at this hotel when I return.

We liked the Hotel Sofitel Hyland very much. We are recommending it to several couples who teach regularly in China as we do. First, it is a well-run hotel. The staff is well trained and know how to provide good customer service. We had only one problem when the breakfast assistant manager did not know how to explain if the cost of the breakfast was included in the room rate or not, or could be charged to the room. We had to go to the front desk to get the matter cleared up. Second, the staff people, all of them, were very courteous and helpful. We booked evening activities through the concierge and were well pleased. The concierge told us everything we wanted to know in advance and all activities were as he represented them to us. Third, the location of the hotel is hard to beat. From the hotel, we could walk the length of Nanjing Road, watch the morning exercisers on that road from our window, and walk to the Bund and the People's Park and the Shanghai Museum and Contemporary Art Museum quite easily. We walked to the Peace Hotel one afternoon to see what that famous hotel is like. What we found is that it may be famous in history, but is dark and small in many ways. The Hotel Sofitel Hyland is much better because it is bright and the lobby and rooms are spacious. Fourth, we liked the price. We were pleased with your prompt service, cost, and the hotel itself. I was pleasantly surprised by the big changes in the hotel, it is definately looking better than it was years ago. New Lobby, new restaurant (Mosaic) and Bar 505. Location is superb! Great value for money.
