Our hotel stay in Guilin was fairly nice. We really loved the view of the Li
River. However, we were disappointed the water there is not potable and the
room had a rather stale smell--maybe cigarettes? The breakfast buffet was
wonderful! We really liked having coffee available as well as a tasty array
of Chinese foods. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Guilin and
Yangshuo--such natural beauty!

I was very satisfied with the TCG Booking Center.
However the Hotel Universal Guilin left something to be desired. The more expensive river view room was very noisy because it over looked a busy intersection. When I moved to a less expensive standard room, I had difficulty obtaining a price reduction. The hotel had to obtain agreement from your center and this was a problem because I had to check out the next day.
It finally worked out because the manager was very helpful.
The staff at the reception desk has to improve their knowledge of English. Thank you for your interest.

The service provided by TravelChinaGuide was excellent, but it was not the same with the Hotel Universal Guilin.
They charged us 6 rmb per night (total 24 rmb) as 'extra bed tax', and we hadn't any extra bed, but a twin bed room. We booked 2 fight tickets at the reception desk in the same hotel, and they told us to pay 1940 rmb for those 2 tickets, but the next day, when the tickets were there, they told us to pay 100 rmb more because they said that there had been a mistake.

Thank you for your interest. Everything was smooth and the service was very good. Even the booking service via Internet was no problem. Hotel was fine and is also recommended in Lonely Planet. It was a good choice.

I was totally satisfied with the Hotel Universal Guilin, they were efficient, helpful and well mannered! I would recommend it to anyone! Also located in a very good spot to get around to see the local attractions and get around town!
The hotel North Square, Shanghai I was happy with the room which was clean and tidy! The location of the room on the froont of the building mewant that i could not sleep well most nights as the horns from cars/taxi's trucks etc. were going off until the early hours of the morning, so not that happy about that! The staff tried to help which was good but they could'nt really speak any English so not great as my Chinese is not good!
