We really enjoyed the spacious comfortable room and the magnificant view of the ancient city wall of Xian.The location was ideal. However we felt that the reception staff could have had better English skills and better manners at times.Otherwise the room was clean and beautifully decorated and we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast menu and efficient staff there.The piano was awesome, we thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful live music in the23 evening. The room was clean, quiet, well equipped and very comfortable. The service was excellent - in the restaurant, at the front desk, with the concierge and the business center. Apple, in the business center, provided exceptional service when we encountered airline problems and she is to be commended for her patience and professionalism. If we were to return to XiAn we would certainly plan to stay at the Howard Johnson again.
