We stayed here for three nights recently and find the receptionist are very friendly and helpful. Location is very good as there are many shops around the area and near to bus stop and train station. Eventhough there is construction going on right next to this hotel and right in front of the hotel, we can not hear any noise from our room but have to be very careful when going in and out of the hotel especially with young children.They also do not provide tissue paper in room! The hotel was fantastic, only one criticism, no-one spoke English and to send a fax it took one hour and it cost me a lot of money. From a business-centre point of view they are hopeless. In fact, I am very amazed and pleased with the prompt response and comprehensive information coupled with detailed explanation provided by TCG on my booking queries. What I like about TCG is that I need not provide my credit card numbers via internet compared to many other booking agencies. This gives me a sense of security when I book online with TCG, as I do not have to fear that my credit card numbers would be accidentally revealed to unauthorised personnel. In addition, TCG is able to give me good advice based on my interest and not the interest of the hotel or TCG itself. For instance, TCG advised me to take a cab to the hotel myself and not get the hotel to provide airport transfers as the latter is much more expensive. In addtion, by telling me the estimated cab fare allows me to know if the cab driver had used a longer route than necessary. I really appreciate that. Thanks. As for Question Two on the hotel services, facilities and location, I am delighted to be served by Hua Xia Hotel, Xiamen staff. Staff are generally friendly and helpful. I am happy with the location as there are nearby shops, railway station, a major shopping centre with supermarket that serves my daily needs. However, I am disappointed with the limited facilities available in the hotel and hope that the hotel could consider more facilities such as KTV and internet cafe. In general, I am very pleased with TCG and the arrangements made. I hope TCG could extend their booking services to hotels of other countries other than China. Guest Name : Miss. Tan Nationality : Singaporean Updated : 2006-1-9 The environment where HuaXia Hotel, Xiamen is located is convenient and easily accessible. With regards to the facilities of HuaXia Hotel, I find that many time, they seem to be having problem with their amenities such as towels, cups, teaspoons, blankets and etc. When I asked for extra blankets for my mum, they wanted to charge me RMB 150. It was only when i called the duty manager and argue with them, they then accede to my request. During our buffet breakfast, they are always running out of coffee spoon, cups.
