We might want to stay on the mountain top but I don't seem to be able to book the dormitory bunk beads what should I do? If I want to go up by Taiping cable car way, where is the nearest place to stay the night before the climb?

Yeah, it will be exciting to visit Huangshan. As I know, there is one hotel on the mountain top, namely Baiyun Hotel – Huangshan. But it is very hard to get the room as they are always under great demands. So, you are suggested to book one room in Cloud Valley Scenic Area, such as Yungu Hotel, Huangshan, which is very close to the cable car.

From Hefei Airport to Huangshan, you could take a taxi to Hefei East Coach Station first as there are several coaches to Huangshan daily. And the coaches are available from 06:00 am to 13:40 pm every 30 mins. From Hangzhou Airport to Huangshan, you need to go to Hangzhou West Coach Station first and then take a coach there to Huangshan directly, which is in operation from 07:10 to 16:30 every 1 hour. The Station in Huangshan is namely Tunxi Station.

Thank you Mr.Arno, I very much appreciate your advice and information. Could you please advise where I can find the timetable for buses from Tunxi to Hefei Airport and from Tunxi to Hangzhou? I need it to be able to figure out which flight to take (morning of afternoon or evening) from Hefei to Beijing or from Hangzhou to Beijing.

Yeah, Heifei Airport as well as Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport is close to Huangshan. And you can take a coach from the airport to Huangshan directly, which costs about 3 hrs. Besides, Pine Ridge Lodge, Huangshan and Huangshan Tangkou Hotel are just located in Huangshan Scenic Area. As I know, the transportation there is very convenient. Please take easy.

Hello, we are planning a 2nd visit to Huangshan, in September 2011 (the 1st time we went was far too quick, all just a blur!). We will be coming on the express bus from Hangzhou to Tangkou, arriving probably in the afternoon. From where the bus drops us off, which hotel would be easily reached by walking a short distance (not too far) AND within a short walking distance to the shuttle or taxi to take us to the Yungu cable station early next morning? We are 2 older ladies who want to save up our walking energy for the mountain and we don't want to stay in Tunxi....:)

You might want to consider Pine Ridge Lodge. It is only 200 meters from the South Entrance to Huangshan. It is a nice lodge like a villa, surrounded by trees. You could see the mountains from this lodge. The hotel provided a free shuttle bus to/from Tangkou bus station where you catch a bus to the north entrance of Huangshan. I stayed at this lodge 2 months ago, and we loved it.

Well, in that case, you are suggested to stay at Thangkou Town in Huangshan Scenic Area as the express bus drives you to Tangkou directly. I would like to recommend you to stay at Huangshan Tangkou Hotel or Pine Ridge Lodge, Huangshan, which is only ten mins’ drive to Mt. Huang as well as 15 mins to Yungu cable station by taxi. And the taxi calling service is provided in each hotel. Any questions u can ask the hotel staff for help when you arrived. Please take easy.

Hi, Huangshan Bus Station as well as Railway Station are all situated in the city center. Thus, you could choose one hotel in the city center, such as Huangshan Noahsark Hotel, Huangshan, Tiandu International Hotel, TunXi Lodge, Huangshan and so on. And Tiandu International Hotel, Huangshan is only 1km to Huangshan Bus Station.
