I stayed in this hotel only for one night with my friend, it is a quiet place, the hotel staffs are kind and courteous, but most of them can not speak English.
TCG booking service is very good, professional staffs, efficient service. I got prompt reply after I submitted the booking request. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

1. We were very satisfied with TCG booking service.
2. Jing Yuan Hotel, Datong - The staff was very cordial, the facility was acceptable. However, there was no heating in the room. The problem we had was that there was no one who could speak English and we had a lot of trouble ordering meals as all of the menus were in Chinese and not English. The location of the Hotel is a bit out of the city centre. The Hotel had only very few guests. The Hotel Management needs to promote the Hotel to Group Tours as it is absolutely dead.
Thanks

I am sorry to say this, but we were astonished by the quality of staff and the facilities. The hotel was located in the slums area of Datong so there was nowhere to go out in the evening. The hotel had many facilities: swimming pool, billiards tables, massage, sauna, and more (I have the leaflet), but NONE were open, because: "(...) there are just seven rooms filled". In the morning, the billiards table was open, but in the evening we were told that it was taken away. NOBODY spoke English among the hotel staff and we had to talk to them via our guide, who had to translate from English to Chinese. Breakfasts were a joke: one fried egg and cake. Coffee in glasses and milk made from instant. On the second morning, we even had to wait 30 minutes for SUCH breakfast despite the fact that there had been 9 persons in the restaurant and just 4 guestes altogether. The room was quite big and rather nice, but immediately we had problems with the toilet and the bathtub was falling apart from the wall. In addition, there was no way to pay for the room with the credit card as the staff was not able to operate the machines. This way we lost over one hour in the morning. This hotel was really a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT for us.
