Hello Joyce,

The hotel is quiet – as it is located in a “back street”, however, it is within walking distance of several bus stops (Shatan Lu Kou Xi and JingShan Dong Jie.) There are a couple of reasonable small restaurants just beside the hotel – which even offer an English menu card.

The hotel lobby is OK and staff is helpful. Although not all people manning the front desk speak English, there was always at least one English speaking person around. Check-in and check-out are promptly and without difficulties performed. The hallways/corridors look old and a little worn (especially the carpets could do with a thorough cleaning!). The rooms are clean. Towels and amenities were supplied on a daily basis, however, the beds were not made up (had to do this ourselves). Wired internet is available in the room. In general we are satisfied with the conditions of the hotel, room and attitude of the staff.

The hotel booking service worked fine for us.

Nihao Joyce,

Firstly I would like to let you know that our personal booking agent, Amy Jian, was fantastic. Her quick responses to our emails, advice and professional manner are to be commended. Everything that Amy had organized was done efficiently and there were no problems with the bookings for our 2 internal flights, train tickets and 3 hotels.

King Park View Beijing-The location was fantastic - to be able to walk to the Forbidden City; Tiananmen Square; Jingshan and Beihai Parks. Also many restaurants in the nearby street were handy at night when you didn’t feel like going out. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the staff very helpful (as above). The only thing we didn’t like was the amount of smoking that was done inside the hotel and in the hallways – very unpleasant!

As per King Parkview Hotel Beijing, the location was good, very close to the Forbidden City and the other park. Many shops nearby selling water, the street was like a marketplace and it was close to a bank. The banks in China open on weekends which was so convenient, also try not to exchange a lot of your money at the airport, do it in banks which gives you a better rate or if you are really desperate, hotel rates are not bad.

Also, the hairdryer was not working properly and breakfast was not satisfactory to what you pay. This hotel I rate is average but you get for what you pay.

Many thanks again!

Stayed for 1 week in September 2011. Good location for Forbidden City. Also nice to see Jinshan park and how the locals use the park every day. But hotel phones didn't work for half my stay and ditto the lobby ATM. Look for ATMs that work next to Redwall hotel 160 meters away. Also Internet cafe 60 mts away to the right. Free with meals. Very good buffet breakfast on 5th floor with great bacon and eggs( 28rmb). Taxi drivers don't know where it is so have directions in Chinese written down ready to use. Local street is hutong like is nature.
