This was my second time staying at the Landsman Hotel. I chose it the first time because of its location near major transportation hubs. It is also well within my price range. The hotel is not elaborate, yet it offers everything I need - a comfortable and clean, non-smoking room. It is in a quiet neighborhood, yet there are plenty of small shops and restaurants nearby to meet basic needs. The subway, bus and taxi systems are all very handy to get anywhere else with ease. I chose Landsman the second time because I was bringing my 17-year old granddaughter with me for a visit to Guangzhou. I knew that Lihuya Park, right across the street from the hotel, is beautiful and would be a safe place for her to go running by herself for exercise in the early morning. She was ecstatic over it! I cannot say enough good things about the staff. They are most helpful and attentive. My luggage was lost the first day of my trip (in the US) and never did make it to China. It was very hard and inconvenient for me to try to trace it. I am elderly (67). The staff spent so much time helping me, even though we could not always communicate clearly between our English and Chinese. They showed compassion that came straight from the heart. Once, when I was very stressed over the situation, they brought me a glass of water to help me relax and take it easy. It was a simple gesture, but was offered with such kindliness and consideration. It reduced my anxiety and put me at ease again. I will come back again to Guangzhou in the future, and when I do, you can be certain that I will make Landsman my choice of a "home" to stay in. The booking service was fabulous. Very quick and efficient. Later, I needed to give more specific information to the passport agency to obtain my visa for China. The booking service provided it without hesitation, even though it went beyond your usual activity for a customer. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to thank all of you for a job well done! We stayed in Landsman hotel for 2 nights, arrived very late. Everything in this hotel was common. Bed was comfortable and clean, however, carpet was dirty and we got a small TV with few English Channels. Staffs were polite and tried to be helpful but that's all.
