Basing on the Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway, it is located only 160 kilometers away from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. Lily Hotel, Hangzhou, was set up in 1994 and renovated in 2004. I promised to give you some feedback on the hotels I booked through you recently but first I would like to thank Therese (I think that is the name I got when I talked to her on the phone from the Lily Hotel, Hangzhou) who was able to respond to my request for hotel bookings in Shanghai and Suzhou in such a short time. Thank you for the fine service you rendered.

Now the Lily Hotel, Hangzhou:
We had no difficulty in checking into the hotel on the day of arrival. The staff was pleasant and spoke a little English and we were able to get into the room very quickly. We found the hotel on the whole pretty good, clean and the facade is impressive both from the outside and as you enter the lobby. However, we wish there was more information for tourists (we had to ask the bellboy for brochures on Hangzhou) since Hangzhou is supposed to be famous as a tourist city. The Staff at the counter were also not able to help much in giving us information on local tours, etc. As elderly tourists (we are over 70 years old!!) we found the hotel far from Westlake to walk to and outside food was equally not available for us to walk to from the hotel. The hotel seems to cater more for group tourists where the local bus drivers all know the places well but for small tourists like us, we did not enjoy such knowledge!!! For example, we saw a tourist bus (open air type) passing by the hotel and made inquiries at the counter but got no information as the staff did not know anything about it!!! The bellboy was more helpful and told us where to catch the bus but gave us the wrong bus stop!!!!!! It would help small individual tourists if the city would make available one day or short travel passes sold by the hotels so that we can travel on the buses without the need to have exact change for bus fares. Australia has such a system which makes individual tourist's life that much easier. We commented to the hotel that we selected the hotel only because of TravelChinaGuide which gave
