Please see my remarks written with blue below.

Location good, facilities fair, staff overal service acceptable, hotel front desk service not good:

1. They refused deposit by credit card as credit card is not good but the real reason was that they want cash - we proved that as I paid with the same card in 5 minutes and ones was ok, second time was not ok. Than we proved them that they use wrong card reader and I required to use correct reader - after they follow my instrustions, everything was fine - but they did not appologize to customers. Customers got feeling that they were cheated by hotel staff.

2. Customers asked if they can exchange foreign money to RMB and hotel staff at front desk accepted - but they use rate 20% lower than official rate. And they did not issue any official receipt or invoice for exchange. After checking I found that hotel has no licence to exchange money and I claimed but they did not return money or correct their action. Cutomers were cheated again by hotel staff.

[+] For the credit card service.

Sometimes, there would be a problem with the card reader to read the credit card successfully and this is very common. As for the hotel, the staff of the front desk do feel sorry for causing you the trouble and failing to make any explanation and apology. Hope for your better understanding.  

[+] For currency exchange service.

Some hotels provide currency exchange service. However, the exchange rate varies according to different banks and different hotels. As for the official receipt or invoice for exchange, the hotel will not provide any receipt or invoice if customers do not require. We are sincerely sorry to make so much troubles to you.

We stayed in Nan Yang Royal Hotel since others hotels were overbooked. The hotel was pretty newly decorated with said European royal style but actually the local taste. All the hotel walls are fake golden.

The room we got was spacious enough for 2 person? accommodation, but, we did not find storage for our luggage. Besides, the beds were too stiff for western guests.

Hotel staff mostly were attentive, however, few people could speak good English. Maybe cos during Canton fair, we waited for about 20 minutes for checking-in and also as said by other guests, we had to sign a deposit frozen from our credit card, which we felt very unreasonable.

Next time, if we have other choices, we will not stay in this hotel.
